The Ordon Spring was beautiful, even in the falling light of the woods, the small cliff face with several small waterfalls trickling down into the large pond seemed to just flow out a calmness that relaxed anyone who came here. The setting sun set out a peaceful glow even better within the Ordon Spring, and in the dusk it seemed as if the Spring itself was drawing forth a few people who needed a place for the night. In the distance, the village of Ordon had some soft lights on, but after he had fought against the Drosslord, Jin really didn't want to be close to there anymore. In fact, the more wild there was the better. It seemed as if the crowded areas that he had begun to visit seemed even more alienated to him then nature itself. Jin walked along the soft sands of Ordon Spring, looking at the water with a soft look on his face. He stood looking at the water and decided now was the best time to just let his guard down and relax. His shields placed to his side, all of his extra clothing folded up and put to the side, and he sat near the edge of the water, Sasha on one side and the 8 inch tall egg sitting in the sand on the other. Jin simply enjoyed the glow of the spring, but he got alert as he heard Sasha start to snap at something. "Who's there?" Relaxed Jin

Seayn had been tromping through the Ordon Province since sun up.. He had recently helped deal with a few rather interesting monsters and the young man believed that there were more than likely quite a few of these running around. His thick armor made his progress incredibly slow through the decently thick underbrush. He could only imagine in horror how much maintenance that he would have to perform tonight. He ran a gauntleted hand through his hair. He hadn't really found any evidence down here of powerful monsters having been in this area. In Faron there was still a large path of destroyed trees while in Castle Town, the deaths of the citizens were unlikely to be forgotten any time soon. Seayn had heard the sound of running water, something that he had forgotten to bring this day.
The young man tripped, tumbling on to the path in front of the spring. He blinked, rubbing his unprotected head as he stared for a moment. Seayn hadn't heard the other man's question, taking his time sitting there and staring at what was a stunning view. He didn't even notice Jin sitting there, focused completely upon the spring. He crawled forward, taking a drink before sitting back. "That's pretty delicious. I'm glad I found my way here."

Jin was on edge around the stranger at first, however the fact that instead of attacking him or even noticing him, the man simply bent down to drink from the Spring. With a relaxed sigh, he leaned back again and nodded his head, watching the stranger for a few moments, the glow of the area making it easy to see the other man, even though the sun simply got lower in the sky. It probably was good that the man had stumbled his way here, since the spring was magical and able to heal anyone who entered it.
"You doing ok? You look a little worse for ware." Jin said, sliding himself partway into the water, as if they where hot springs, and relaxed. "You should just take your armor off and go for a swim... this water is perfect for anyone dealing with a rough day." He added, smiling softly, the 8 inch egg on his lap, soaking in the water a bit as well, the healing properties better for it then warmth.

Seayn sat back, his eyes locking on to Jin. He shook his head, rather surprised that he hadn't noticed the person that was pretty noticeable. He arched his eyebrow as the young man observed the man with an egg. That was an interesting choice for a companion... and unhatched animal of an unknown nature. "Eh, I'm fine. Looking for... strange things. It's just really stuffy in this armor. It's also quite a bit hassle to take this off and put it back on again." Seayn's brown eyes searched the area for any other people, making sure that this man was alone. He didn't want to be surprised again, not that it mattered much.
"What are you doing with that egg? You're not some kind of minish that lays eggs are you? Do minish even do that? How about oocca? Well regardless, it's good to meet you. I am Seayn." The young man felt kind of silly rambling about the birthing procedures of different races but he hadn't really thought of restraining the flow of words that were leaving his mouth. He ran a hand through his hair, feeling a few plants and moisture up there. Seayn figured that he looked like a mess so he was quite glad that he wasn't in a crowd of other humans.

Jin looked at the man and then shrugged his shoulders. "This place is a well protected place... even if your armor is hard to take off and put back on, here, you aren't in any rush and its already very late in the day." Jin said, scratching his chin, his appearance a little less ragged then the other human, though one could still see that he had been in some sort of fight if they looked hard enough at him and his equipment.
"I am Jin Reno, nice to meet you Seayn." Jin said, before rubbing the egg gently with his hand. "I'm a human... and this... this is an egg that I rescued from some Bublins. I don't know what's inside of it, but it feels like something that I need to protect. To keep safe till it hatches." He said, smiling and washing it a bit with the spring water.
Blinking for a moment, Jin sat up in the water and then moved over to his bag an rummaged through it for a few moments before pulling out some mushrooms, some radishes, a cabbage, and a few pieces of fish wrapped up in parchment. "Hey, you hungry? I got some good stuff here for a simple cabbage wrap." Jin said, smiling at Seayn.

"I don't doubt that it's safe here but this place is not my intended destination... Then again I'm not quite sure where I'm going but it's rather urgent." Seayn said, looking off into the distance, even though most of his vision was blocked by the surrounding flora. Jin seemed to be relaxing after a tough day, almost as if he'd been in some kind of fight or another. It had surely been a rough day on both of them yet he wasn't one to complain about his problems. Seayn looked down at the egg again, feeling rather stupid for making such assumptions such as calling him a minish. It was rather ridiculous. He shook his head, chuckling at himself for a moment.
"That's a noble task. Everything deserves the ability to experience life. I'm glad you managed to save it." Seayn watched Jin for a moment, thinking to himself. He looked down at the egg, wondering what kind of being it housed within it. He looked down at his stomach, unable to contain the rumbling growl that now emitted from his stomach. "I'm always up for some food." He said, holding a hand to his stomach as he wondered what Jin might have in there. He sat, waiting patiently, not wanting to seem rude to his new acquaintance.

Jin blinked at Seayn and then looked around him once more before shrugging his shoulders. "You can just tell that this place is just different from the rest of the world... its peaceful, the water washes away fatigue. They even say that the Spirit of Ordona guards this place. To me that just makes me feel safe." He said with a smile, securing the little egg in the sand not to far from Jin. It would be safe while he began to do just what he said he would do. Cooking food for the two of them.
Looking over at Seayn from the small fire he had started from a few sticks, Jin rubbed his chin in thought and then nodded. "I am too, even though its done nothing but shake a tiny bit lately. I hope it hatches soon." He said with a smile, before putting a few leaves of the cabbage into a small bowl of water that was sitting over the fire. He watched it with a smile, getting the fish unwrapped and putting them on stones next to the fire he made, the heat from the fire cooking the fish from the stones.
Two plates came out from his bag, and Jin put two leaves from the cabbage onto each plate before putting diced mushrooms and radishes into the same bowl of hot water. While they cooked, he took the cooked fish and divided them up between the four pieces of cabbage leaves, made limp by the hot water. Next came equal shares of the cooked fish into each of the cabbage leaves, and Jin then wrapped up the leaves nice and tight. A minute to cook on the bottom and a minute to cook on the top for each wrap and Jin then placed two on each plate once again.
"There ya go, come and get it while it's hot and crunchy. " Jin said, taking one of his gingerly and taking a bite out of it. "Mmm... good."

Seayn glanced towards the center of the spring, his eyes searching for a moment as if he would see some luminous figure that would show him some revelation. He shook his head, grinning at Jin. "Perhaps there is some benevolent spirit here, yet I would think that it would be just as important for us to look after it, as it is for it to look after us. That's why Hyrule needs those people that will defend this realm." Seayn had noble aspirations that he might not quite live up to, yet he planned on doing the best he could whenever he could. The young man had always expected to some how be swept up into a grand adventure where the world would have to depend solely upon him. His life so far hadn't had anything that spectacular but he could hope, right?
Seayn watched as Jin prepared food, something that he had no talent for at all, even though he was quite grand at making it disappear. He could smell the sizzling fish, cooking through conduction. "Last time I tried to make food on my adventures, it was half raw... I ate it anyways." The young man stared with undisguised hunger at the food being prepared. Seayn kept his hands at his side, trying to hide his enthusiasm until Jin actually put his plate of food down. He immediately snatched it up, shoving part of it into his mouth before taking a large bite then chewing. The young man took a moment, the food burning his mouth slightly yet he wasn't likely to relinquish the food. He quickly chewed up the rest, swallowing it. He grinned at Jin, "That is delicious. Where did you learn to cook?"

Jin smiled at Seayn and nodded his head before speaking softly, "I want to protect this area to the best of my abilities. All of Hyrule really. There are different spirits around this great land, and each of these spirits do their best to help out wary travelers... so you know what I want to do... I want to protect them each, making those spirits know that I will keep their lands safe and clean." After all of that, Jin blushed a bit and rubbed the back of his head. He just kind of spilled out a part of himself to this stranger, but it felt as if the man had a similar heart, at the very least.
He let out a laugh as the man spoke about his untalented takes on cooking. "Well, some foods are actually a little better prepared raw, and some meats are quite tasty with the inside not fully cooked." He said with a smile. With the food done and ready, Jin watched as Seayn grabbed his food and ate it up quickly. Jin on the other hand, ate his food slowly, enjoying the taste of it as he sat there. It was always good sharing one's food with others. Jin blinked at Seayn when he asked him the question, and he put his food back onto his plate. "Well... I learned to cook from a book in the cave where I lived. I learned a few things from different books."

"I'm mostly here to protect other people, yet it would be wonderful if everyone would do their part to keep such spirits safe. I could always use a little bit of help on the road. I'm glad that there are people around that care as much as you do about the land. Perhaps I should more conscious of how I treat the land." Seayn leaned back, his hands planted firmly upon the ground to prop himself up. He put on a thoughtful face, almost as if starting a introspection immediately. He shook his head, looking Jin over for a moment. He didn't know the intricacies of preparing food, nor was he ever likely to use them. He preferred to let others do the cooking while he did more active things.
Seayn tilted his head, staring quizzically at the other young man. "You lived in a cave... and you found books there? Were you alone? When did this happen?" The human spouted out questions, never stopping to think if he was crossing a personal line that Jin might hold dearly. Seayn didn't think that he looked like he had lived in a cave most of his life, yet that wasn't something that most people casually mentioned. He leaned forward to take another bite from his food, doing it subconsciously as his mind had become focused upon Jin. He chewed slowly, ears obviously open as he waited for an answer... or three.

"Sometimes I wonder if the people of this land really need to be saved when they can cause such damage to nature just by being foolish where their junk and garbage goes." He muttered, looking at the plate of his food, not touching it as he simply stared down at it. Jin was the type to do a few things a certain way, and one thing that he made sure to do was never waste food. He forced himself to pick up one of the cabbage rolls and eat it, though slowly. Seayn, this stranger, was more interested in Jin's past now, and he wondered how the man would take to the strange life he had lived.
For a moment Jin sat there silent, eating the cabbage roll and staring at his feet, but he put the food down and turned toward Seayn, pulling his legs against his chest and resting his head on them as he thought about how best to start. "Well... to say it was just a cave is an understatement... it was really more of a giant cavern with a small entrance and several large rooms inside... some of which had been carved out into certain shapes. There are two bedrooms, a library, a small kitchen, what I think was a common room... I turned it into a training room a couple of years back, a small cave that leads to a small natural spring, and then several off shoot tunnels... some of which contained dried food that lasted me quite a while..."
He took a breath and continued, "I woke up one day inside the caves, no idea of where I came from, this scar on my cheek," He motioned to the Y shaped scar, "and painful flashes of something I can't remember." After a couple days of searching... I found the main chambers of the cavern, where all the things one would need to survive without ever leaving. Outside was the unforgiving Desert Providence, and I was... probably 5 years old. I couldn't survive out of the caverns... they where safe. Too far from anything to have people find it, no soft sand for monsters to get close to..."
"I even found those shields over there in the cave in a small room near the back. I thought they where cool. After a while though... just being in a cave, I got bored. I thought someone was going to come back, someone who knew me and who I was. No one came. I thought I heard someone now and then, but I could never find anyone. So... I started to read. It took a while to understand some of the words, but after a while, I could understand what I read. Book after book after book after book. Some about the true world around me, others about worlds people made up in their minds. Practical knowledge, like cooking, first aid, cultures, and races. The stories I read were full of heroes fighting the bad guys and winning. Adventures."
"Books and a unforgiving desert outside was all I knew... I found Sasha within the caves, the small albino deku baba a rarity in the desert, but she became the only thing I could interact with that was alive. She was too small to hurt me, still is, and grew to love me from a few pieces of shared dried meat." Jin said, looking at the ground once more. "I only got free of the desert a few months ago... and that was after about 2 years in that desert trying to escape... my arms, legs, and chest have the scars to prove it..."
"Sorry... kinda rambled on there..."

Seayn showed little reaction beside scrunching his face at Jin's comment of whether or not people needed saving. He chomped on the rest of his food, slowly chewing the last bite as he watched his new acquaintance. Perhaps the young man just needed time to get used to the way that people did things or maybe his connection to nature would always overpower his connection to his people. That might be a good quality to have, Jin's insight might be invaluable in the future.
Seayn didn't think that the other man was going to answer his question, since he pulled his legs up to his chest almost as if remembering things that he would rather leave out of his mind. Jin had lived in a giant cavern complex in the desert? That seemed out of place. Someone had to have left him there, they surely would have come back? And what about the other residents of the desert? The Gerudo weren't the most unified front but there were very few places in their own territory that they hadn't been to.
Seayn could only imagine what Jin had gone through. He must have repressed his memories or perhaps been forced to forget them. The scar wasn't that strange, many people got scars as children, it wasn't exactly the most uncommon occurrence yet Jin seemed to place some stock in it so the young knight wasn't going to try to dissuade him of the notion. Maybe there was something more to the story but it was unlikely that Jin would remember it until he had another piece of the puzzle, which Seayn surely could not provide.
"Self-taught, self-trained, and self-sustainable? Interesting. Even only everyone else in Hyrule was as motivated as you, we wouldn't have any problems. The shields are an interesting choice of weaponry, they seem to slightly lack offensive capability though, but what do I know? I carry around a weapon weaker than any other." Seayn chuckled, shaking his head in thought about Excalipur, specifically about why someone would craft a replica only to make it unusable.
A deku baba... those things were usually hostile, yet Seayn supposed that if Jin had grown an attachment to it, then they probably weren't too unlike other less dangerous aggressive species. "Only out of the desert for a couple of months, eh? Well I'm sure you will get used to this place, enjoy it." He wanted to add an ominous warning to the end, yet he felt as if that would be jumping to conclusions that weren't founded yet, so he bit his tongue, watching Jin curiously. He could only imagine what it would have been like to be completely alone for so long.

Jin let out a sigh and pulled a glass jar from his bag which contained insects within it. He opened it carefully and pulled out a single beetle before he moved over to Sasha, the tiny albino deku baba that was behind him. The plant, smaller then Jin's hand, snapped at Seayn when it saw him, only to get distracted by the bug in Jin's other hand. Jin tossed the bug and Sasha snapped it out of the air before chewing on it happily.
He looked back at Seayn now and wondered what the man meant by most of his words. His shields lacked offensive capabilities? Obviously he hadn't seen Jin fight. His own weapon was weaker then most? What was the purpose of it then? So many things went through Jin's mind, but in the end he just sat down across from Seayn again and looked at the other human.
"I've been trying too. Looking for adventure, being the good guy, fighting the bad guys... but it never seems as easy as that... most of the time I am left questioning who is good and who is bad. A monster made from a scrapyard... who is the bad one there, the monster of the people who created the mess... its all getting to be a little worrisome. I even became a Gentry to see if I could help people out."

Seayn stared at the curious little monster set before him. It was albino, probably because it had been left in the dark for far too long... although from what he knew, he thought plants died with no light. It was an interesting specimen indeed and something that others might take more time examining yet Seayn was no scholar in pursuit of knowledge, although a little knowledge on the side never hurt anyone. He put a gauntleted finger towards the deku baba, wondering if it would attempt to bite him through the metal of his armor. "You seem to carry around quite a few interesting things. First time I've ever seen a white one of these."
"It's true that most things aren't as black and white as most people would hope. The more in-depth you look into matters, the less likely you are to stumble upon easy resolution. As a gentry, you must lead by example. You must do those hard things that others cannot. Defeat the monster, the people shall make more scrapyards. Leave the monster be, innocent people will die. If you defeat the monster but then use your authority to make sure that the people no longer leave their waste like that, then you have changed things for the better. People look for the easiest way out of things, you must show them that the easiest way is most often not the best. At least, that's what I try to do as a member of the human gentry." Seayn spoke, keeping his face solemn until the end, where he casually mentioned his own position and started to grin in amusement.

"Sasha was a rare find and my only friend for a few years." Jin said, watching as the mini deku baba snapped at Seayn as he moved his hand toward the small plant. The soft snapping was a little cute and Jin just watched Sasha snap while pulling back from Seayn's large metal finger. "Stop messing with her now, want to feed her a bug?" Jin asked, putting the jar of bugs near Seayn.
He nodded as Seayn spoke and looked at the ground. "I hope I led by example then..." He said softly, holding the egg in his lap now, running his hand over it softly.

"I'm sure that Sasha has been a great companion for you." Seayn gingerly stuck his forefinger and thumb into the jar, managing to grab one of the crawly critters. He held it by its legs towards the small carnivorous plant for a moment. He offered it cautiously, wanting to somehow befriend this little thing. It wasn't often that he saw deku babas, let alone albino ones that were mostly tame. He could only wonder how these things worked, since most plants seemed to need only water, sunlight, and dirt for sustenance while these things seemed to need food as well. He could only imagine how they managed to keep themselves supplied with prey when they couldn't move beyond their rooted position.
"I'm sure you've been doing fine. And if not, there's always the future in which to redeem yourself. Don't give up hope and don't look back to dwell. Just keep on going." Seayn wasn't quite sure that he was the person to be giving advice to young men that weren't confident in their abilities but he was going to do his best.

"Oh she has been... but her responses are pretty much just a constant... clicking sound when she snaps... I don't even think she really even understands what it is that I am saying..." He said, his voice barely hiding any traces of sadness.
As Seayn offered the insect by its leg to the plant, Sasha looked up at Seayn through its non-existent eyes and snapped a few times at the bug. Once it got close enough, Sasha stretched as far as she could and snapped down upon the insect and downing it, snapping a few times loudly before it lowered back down and sat there, digesting her meal.
"I haven't died yet, I haven't been defeated in battle, I've helped people, and I plan to help more, even if sometimes I feel as if I won't be able to continue on with how people act." He said softly, nodding his head toward Seayn. "I just never knew it could be so lonely at times...."
