APPEARANCE,Full body & Off duty bust
Shera is gorgeous. She knows this with every fiber of her five feet eight inches, from her pretty ponytail to her wicked heels. Her eyes are red as the ripest apple, hair black as the darkest ebony, and somehow her skin is pale and perfect in complexion. And then she went and messed it all up by getting a strange tribal-like tattoo on her torso that she claims means ‘story of devotion’ in some obscure dialect of Sky Writing but everyone knows is only there because she had an interesting drunken night with a Gerudo. At this point, the Oocca have politely come to the mutual conclusion that no one is to tell her that her tattoo is most likely a permanent mark of ownership from that Gerudo. No matter how much Shera likes showing her waist to the public and running around in skimpy little outfits, she has very long nails and will kick you with those stiletto heels of hers.
As an Oocca, Shera has wings, but unlike other Oocca she has her wings as a sort of interesting cloak of feathers. This cloak makes for a fantastic mark of status, as she can use it to swirl on a heel and fly away. Shera does not use stairs for exactly this reason, and has her entire wardrobe matched around this ‘cloak’. She has one of the largest wingspans of an Oocca, something like an eagle amongst the falcons, and is her only point of pride. Shera has a habit of wearing boots that go midway up her thighs and hot pants, combined with an ornate belt that has no real purpose aside from style. She has a habit of binding her otherwise decently sized breasts, as she believes that she can better serve the mystique of the Oocca by maintaining a semi-androgynous appearance.
WEAPONS,A Treatise On Understanding the Economics of Hyrulian Farming and Other Sensible Systems- This is a ridiculously large leather bound book with very nice gold plated copper decorations attached to a very sturdy book strap. By using the awesome might of its over two thousand handmade paper pages, Shera is able to beat people over the head or in the kidneys. It does not take any kind of genius to use this weapon, but one would assume a lucky shot to tender areas would be particularly painful and disabling.
ITEMS,None at this time (she has no pockets, where exactly do you want her to put things?).
ABILITIES,Kiss of FaroreThis is a healing spell, triggered by a kiss directly to the skin of the person being affected. It can affect one person at a time and takes one post to cooldown and three posts before it can be used on the same person again. It can restore minor to moderate injuries, and cannot be used on the person using it. (If you have anywhere from a papercut to a broken bone, this is the spell for you.) On the unexpected upside, this spell also removes all traces of nonlethal poison from one’s system, making it the perfect hangover and food poisoning cure.
Farore’s MelodyThis too is a healing spell, but this one doesn’t require kissing from a human headed bird. Instead, this is a short burst of song (short as in takes two posts to cast) that heals two people of their assorted major injuries. (If you are stupid enough to have your intestines falling out, this is the spell for you.) Farore’s Melody is very nice, until you realize that it takes six posts to cool down before you can be targeted by it again, and takes three posts for her to use it again period (this does not include casting time so in reality it takes eight posts before target and five posts before enacted). Like the Kiss of Farore, Farore’s Melody has the unexpected upside of being a soothing song that works like a good power nap and massage all at once. On the downside, it can’t be used on the caster and any interruption of the casting sets it back to recharge.
RACIAL ABILITIES,
Spatial ScienceAs all Oocca are really no more than weird chickens with faces, they’ve also developed a way to … get around that biological handicap. All Oocca can switch into a humanoid form, which may or may not have bird-like characteristics (e.g. a beak, feathers … you can include stuff like that if you like, but you don’t have to), but they all have large, feathered wings. This means that they can fly, but also that they need to have hollow bones to be light enough to fly. The frail bones, unfortunately, mean that they have a whole level of health less than normal (the most health an Oocca can ever have, barring a magical ability, is Near Perfect). Their flight lets them access to a unique third action slot: an Oocca can only use this extra action slot to fly in or out-of-range, as long as it is the last action slot they use during a turn. They also have some very potent powers, reflected in their ability to manipulate space.
Teleport: The Oocca can teleport, moving them in-range, out-of-range, or without changing range; either way, the act of teleporting avoids one physical or magical attack. Cooldown of three posts.
Telekinesis: The Oocca can use a form of magic which allows them to manipulate objects, which comes in three ranges: Weak, Moderate, and Strong. Weak Telekinesis can either deal moderate damage to an opponent (by way of a sort of “force push”, or by flinging a small object at them) or can block a physical projectile that would deal up to moderate damage. Moderate Telekinesis can either deal heavy damage to an opponent (same as Weak, but with a stronger push/larger object) or block a physical projectile that would deal up to heavy damage. Strong Telekinesis, meanwhile, can deal massive damage to an opponent (same method as Weak or Moderate), three levels divided up among separate opponents, block a projectile that would deal massive damage, or block up to three projectiles that would deal moderate damage. Weak Telekinesis puts the whole ability on cooldown for one post, Moderate puts it on cooldown for two posts, Strong puts it on cooldown for three posts, but also consumes two action slots instead of the usual one.
HISTORY,
Scheherazade Al Khalifa was actually born as Ooccarra, daughter of Ooccian and Ooccelle. She was a happy little floating head, and did not manage to learn how to become human until she was ten. As a child, Ooccarra was encouraged to be as studious as possible, as her parents very much wanted to have a dignified scientist for an offspring. This was rather fine with Ooccarra, as she had about the same personality as a piece of paper, and was a splendid life from the ages of five to fourteen. And then puberty hit, along with legs and breasts in her human form. Ooccarra was a rather bland teenager, but other teenagers thought she was wonderful. She could heal hangovers, removing the danger of underage drinking, and so Ooccarra was abducted for interesting Oocca parties on a regular basis. By the time she was seventee, Ooccarra was convinced: without some sort of intelligent guidance, her entire species might kill itself from its stupidity.
So Ooccarra studied more, attended more parties, learned how to fit in, and generally made herself available for both therapy and healing services. She learned how to splint a leg, how to stitch a stomach wound, what kind of plant would cure genital itching, and how to keep her fellow Oocca from dying. At the age of twenty, Ooccarra had become a so much of her ‘friends’ lives that when they packed for their rebellious road trip she was placed third in the list of things to take with them after money and alcohol. By the time the group had made it to the desert, not even Ooccarra’s common sense managed to save them enough water and food. The six Oocca survived due to the timely intervention of a group of Gerudo women who managed to ask for one thing in return. Ooccarra was plied with enough wine to inebriate a healthy camel and walked out of a tent the next morning with a snazzy new name, a snazzier tattoo, and the niggling suspicion that she was forgetting something very important.
Scheherazade rather liked her new name, and decided to use her reputation, intelligence, and apparent diplomatic honors for a higher cause: she was going to stop the idiocy from within. And so began Shera’s quest to become an adjunct, to serve the Oocca Lord to the best of her abilities, and to make perfectly certain that her ‘friends’ were never allowed to leave the city again. After all, just look at the messes they make even when she supervises them.
EXTRAS,
Shera is not lesbian. She has no idea she is in fact married to a Gerudo, and further has no idea that her ‘wife’ may be looking for her. Shera is firmly in the realm of bisexual and will not be persuaded to prefer either side.
