Failing FAILING FAILING BREAKING PURGE THE UNCLEAN BURN THE DARKNESS BURNING BURNING BURNING
Odium, now nothing more than a screaming avatar of light and fire and righteous rage, leaped to attack Seayn.
And burned away.
A dead knight fell at Seayn's feet. There wasn't a mark on him. In his hands he held a shard of glowing metal. The voice spoke one last time, fading.
"Light and hope. These are the gifts we have left you. When the sword of hope is unbound, beware. Dark times lie ahead."
The shard in the dead knight's hand started to smoke. Radiant vapor trailed towards the dragon that had felled the newborn god. There was a feeling of gratitude in the air, like an unspoken apology.
"There it is! KILL IT!"
Knights appeared all around, charging for the dragon. The shard went inert.
Odium is defeated! Congratulations all of you! Since nobody was skipped, you receive 75 rupees! Each! Most Valuable Player award goes to Jackal, who gains the Battle-Tested trait. Once we put up the info on the shards, Jackal will be able to buy one way cheaper than the rest of you.
The shard itself goes to Seayn, because we want them to go out to normal members and he contributed way more to the battle than the rest of you. Seriously. Two of you didn't even start on the scene. I are disappoint.
Post once claiming your rewards and then exit. Your rupees will be handed out momentarily.

x x She breathed fire until there was none left to breathe, until the black smoke was completely extinguished and the newborn god was dead. Triumphant, Jackal threw her head back and roared, the sound somehow both the shriek of an eagle and the fury of a lion. She shuddered and the fur stood up on her neck as she began to recede back into her human (ish) form, slowly losing mass and strength until she was back to her usual form. The problem was there was a big bleeding hole in her stomach.
OW. She doubled over and clutched the wound in her stomach, one that hadn't seemed so bad when she'd been a dragon. But now that the fight was over and the adrenaline had receded, the pain came in full force.
"There it is! KILL IT!"
Jackal looked up, realizing she had fallen to her knees, one hand still pressed against the wound. She almost said "I already did that" before she realized they were talking about her. The Knights did not, apparently, have a reaction ready for watching a dragon turn into a bleeding young woman. But they were getting over their shock, and at least two of them recognized her; the others had just watched her breathe black fire.
"You've got to be kidding me," Jackal muttered, stumbling up to her feet and suppressing the pain. Then an arrow went schplut into her shoulder. Her eyes went wide in shock and she reeled backwards, a hand grabbing the arrow instinctually. She broke it off and hissed, realizing she wasn't making things much better on herself. She'd crouched into a low, predatory stance, her eyes on the Knights, praying they didn't all have bows. She looked around for a way out, but she couldn't see anything but the buildings. She supposed that'd have to do.
When another archer notched an arrow, she took that as her cue. She leapt from the street and onto the side of a building, using her claws to scale the side. Quick as shadow, she darted along the side until she found herself on the roof, running across the rooftops on all fours, drops of blood splattering on the streets below. Her face was contorted in pain, but that was the only allowance she gave herself. At least the damned monstrosity was dead. Now the other one just had to get away.
That went well.

Seayn kept himself behind his shield, attempting to avoid the flailing claws of the screeching, burning, deadly thing that came flying through the air at him. A thud at his feet drew him from behind the shield, a simple hylian knight lying dead upon the ground in front of him. Had they made a mistake? Had this person been possessed by something that had forced him to commit these acts. Seayn sheathed his sword, allowing his shield to spiral back into the armor that had spawned it. The young man could but hope that his death had been quick and painless, kneeling down to make sure this knight's eyes were closed for the last time. He reached down, grabbing the glowing shard. He could only imagine what damage could have been caused if they hadn't intercepted this being before it had managed to tear through the rest of the city. Seayn stood up, looking at the knights for a moment. They were charging the girl that had been a dragon. That wasn't the right thing at all. He stood in shock as they assaulted the person that had managed to divert a massacre. " LEAVE HER ALONE! She didn't do anything!" Seayn attempted to disrupt the chase, slamming into the lead hylian, plowing through him as the other person's momentum was completely nullified by the human. The minish had been lightning quick with her escape disappearing with very little prompting. He was sure that he could keep this from becoming a big deal. Seayn held up his hands, not wanting any more bloodshed to come from this. The young man hoped that the dragon would be ok. He probably owed his own life and quite a few other people's lives to the mysterious person. -Exit-

"Stand down!" Hadrian commanded, and the Knight's lowered their weapons without taking anymore shots at the dragon as it took off. "Get back to your posts. Dismissed! The old man yelled.
"But what of the monster, sir? We need to kill it!" One of the knights blurted out. Hadrian's fierce eyes pierced the Hylian.
"I said return to your post," he said sternly. His eyes didn't break the young knights until the knight turned and headed back into the city. Hadrian picked out two other knights before they left. "Give me a hand. We need to get this fallen knight to a safe location until we can have his funeral," The three knights lifted the lifeless man up and carried him off. Hadrian turned to the two men that remained, "Seayn, Silver; you both did well. And if you see the other one again, give my gratitude. Without you all, more people surely would have been killed." And he headed off.
