Loranae Swann
Broken Iris
RACE,Minish/Human [Minish Dominant].
GENDER,Female.
BATTLE ROLE,Magic DPS.
BATTLE STYLE,Casual.
AGE,Twenty-three.
ALLIANCE,Chaotic Neutral.
PERSONALITY,Loranae is a cold and calculating soul, her very being filled with a loathing toward men, because one destroyed her life. Her once kind and innocent nature had long since burned away, and she is hardly ever such a way to anyone. She keeps to herself, often preferring her own mind to the reality that surrounds her. As such, Loranae often has the tendency to daydream, escaping from unpleasant memories. She certainly does not leave true reality for long, because she certainly has no wish to become taken advantage of once again. As such, she is overly cautious and hardly trusts anyone she comes across. Those that attempt to converse with her are often met with a blank stare, but she will attempt to talk back to placate. It's a remaining shred of her usual kindness, because she does know that not everyone is cruel and sick in mind.
She does have a fox nature beneath her coldness, and Loranae does enjoy being mischievous and sly from time-to-time. She enjoys toying with those that especially get under her skin, using her own wiles to seduce. Especially against men does she enjoy pulling their strings until she merely leaves them disappointed and crushed with her mind games. In rare instances, she also has a vulnerability that can be taken advantage of, which relates to her tendency to detach herself from reality. A shell of her past innocence shows, and she becomes quite melancholy and even more distant. Honestly, most tend to leave her be, an Loranae truly prefers it that way.
APPEARANCE,Beautiful and elegant. When many first see Lorane, they become speechless and sometimes in a stupor of her innocent looks. Eyes the color of pure amber, and with skin as pale and luminous as the moon. Lorane appears to many as somber and pained when by herself. Of course, beauty is only superficial, and this aspect of her physical appearance can be overlooked easily. Her hair is a honeyed blond, reaching down past her ankles. The front of her hair is clasped in two pink and white hair ornaments, which frame her face nicely. Bangs fall into her eyes in a cute manner, and her hair is parted in the back, almost making it float about her as a halo. Showing her only trait of Minish descent are two white, furry ears sitting where human ears would have.
Loranae has a very slender figure, almost like trying to catch the moonlight itself. Toned muscles from her usual running during the day, though it is more of an enjoyment than for exercise. Long legs make up most of her height, which is a very delicate five foot two. Her weight is very slight, like a wraith. Her taste in clothes is very elegant and dressy. She enjoys wearing a darker style of intricate dresses, preferring dark reds and blacks. Loranae may adore dresses, but her style can be versatile. Whether her beauty appeals to any at all, she is comfortable with herself.
Loranae.
Fox Form.
WEAPONS,Dark Grace: Two steel-edged fans that Loranae uses lethal weapons. They can be used for long range or melee. When thrown, they always return to her hands, much like a boomerang. They fold for easy storage, and she carries them on her person at all times.
ITEMS,N/A.
ABILITIES,Telekinesis: A developed ability Loranae does not use too often. With a look in a direction, she can send an object moving in any direction she wishes. The farther the distance, the more draining it can be on her energy. The size of an object is also a factor. Moving a small object like a book or a brush takes no energy from her at all. A live being is not as hard, though it is a bit more taxing. Something the size of a tree could actually make her faint. Loranae can also passively use this ability to increase her acrobatics.
Herself: No posts.
Low Damage Cooldown: One post.
Medium Damage Cooldown: Two posts.
High Damage Cooldown: Three posts.
Darkness Manipulation: Loranae has the unique abilitiy to manipulate the dark energies around her into various forms. Everything has positive and negative energy, though she is only able to manipulate the dark energies surrounding her. This ability almost appears like shadows, but she cannot manipulate shadows exactly. Loranae usually uses this ability to create energy waves, makeshift weaponry, or barriers. She still has yet to experiment fully with this ability. As of right now, she only has access to using this as an offensive attack by creating an energy wave that causes moderate damage.
Cooldown: Two posts.
RACIAL ABILITIES,
Animal Form: Each Minish can fully take on the animal form that they are connected to. If that animal is large (think something like a bear or a lion), then their physical attacks do more damage (an extra level). If that animal is small, they gain a speed increase (an extra action slot), but receive a little more damage than usual (an extra half-level of physical damage) whenever they are hit by a physical attack. For both sizes, the Minish cannot activate any magical weapons or items (unless those weapons/items specifically allow it). The animal form lasts for three posts and then has a cooldown of three more posts.
Invisibility: The Minish temporarily turns invisible, meaning the enemy cannot target them in the next turn; if they find themselves in an area-of-effect attack, they are still vulnerable, however. Meanwhile, a physical attack used while Invisible deals more damage than usual (an extra level of damage). Invisibility only lasts for one turn, and has a cooldown of five posts.
HISTORY,
Born into the loving family of her human mother and her Minish father. Her mother was a young human heiress, having inherited her parents wealth when merely a teenager, and then falling in love with a charming Minish shortly after. Elevated to a sort of 'noble' status, her small family held importance in the inner circle of the Castle Town elite. Now, this had no bearing upon politics the Hylian Royal Family set, merely what the rich believed as the social elite. Able to wear the very best clothing, and always meeting people of her own stature. Loranae grew up in a comfortable and spoiled life. With her innocent demeanor, many found her such a delightful and intelligent child, despite her mixed heritage. Adoring both her mother and father, she would do anything her parents asked. Her father had grown very fond of his lifestyle, and would not allow anyone to change that. Not even a member of his family.
A thought that would cost Loranae dearly.
As she grew into a young teenager, strange dreams would occur to her. Dreams of a dark moonlit night, where all she could hear were the screams of a terrified young girl. Before she could ever see why, Loranae would awaken in a cold sweat. The same dream each and every night, ending the same way. Her parents thought nothing of these troubling dreams, and so she said nothing at all. On the other hand, her now ambitious father had other ideas to gain more wealth. True to his fox ways, he became greedy and more cunning in his age. Seeing his daughter as a way to gain such things, he would use Loranae for his own means. Though her loved his daughter, he viewed such pieces to be used as he willed. Her mother's wealth seemed to have done the worst over the years. On the eve of a ball, Loranae would be introduced to who would be her future husband. A charismatic and handsome youth two years older than herself. She was only fourteen.
And yet, it was of a proper age.
Innocently, she viewed the whole courtship as a little girl would. Of a Prince romancing the Princess where love would bloom and forever last. Her mother found her daughter too young to marry at such a tender age, so she requested she be at least sixteen. Her father consented, and he was content with the match. Loranae's future husband was named Sandorian, and so things continued between them at an innocent pace. All she saw was through the eyes of a young child, knowing nothing of the real world. Nightmares continued to come to her, dreams of a future that scared and frightened her. One night she had dreamed she would receive a lovely new dress from her beloved, and she did the very next day. A pretty dress of pink lace and silk. And the one nightmare continued to plague her at a constant, trying to warn her, until all she heard were screams whenever she awoke. A warning she would learn soon enough.
Two years passed.
The wedding was to be set soon, and Loranae was exhilarated. Even with her joy, a hollow feeling settled inside her. Like none of this was right, and that Sandorian did not truly love her. And he never did. Her wealth and her sweet beauty were all that had interested him to her in the first place. Her mother turned a blind eye, and her father expected nothing less of the innocent girl. As the day grew closer, Loranae's childhood dream began to grow more vivid, until she finally saw the end. In a state of panic, and never revealing why, she took off in the middle of the night, under the starless sky. To run from what the future would hold, of what path she had been set upon from the very beginning. And she ran into the one person she had hoped not to. The one she was to be wed to, the one to protect her, and to love her. Sandorian did neither.
Needless to say, he was drunk and lustful.
Pushed into a dark alley, none would hear her muffled screams. Dress torn to shreds, and she blacked out the entire nightmare. The next Loranae remembered was that she had been left on the cold concrete, sore and broken. Innocence shattered, and her life not her own. Laughter filled her ears, and a bubbling anger welled within her. How dare he touch what he had no right to! Angry tears stung her eyes, and she suddenly flung her arm out, and Sandorian was sent into the streets, landing at such an odd angle upon the cold street. Huddling to herself, fearing what she may have done, she ran. Faster than she had, graceful as she always was. Ears twitching to make sure none followed. Hollow sobs escaped her the whole way back to her home. Mother and father were asleep, and Loranae made her way to her room. Dirty and so very sore and bruised. She gathered her belongings, money she had, and her fear driving her.
The traumatic night left her mind in shambles, crushing any of the sweetness she had held as a younger girl. Her demeanor became colder and introverted, and rather hostile toward men. She has spent the past years of her life traveling, hating to stay in one place for too long. Unfortunately, she ran into a male that was once more interested in her looks and distant persona. Deciding to perhaps ease her memories with a drink, she was approached by him in a bar in Castle Town. His sugar coated lies did nothing to sway her, and Loranae denied him with a sneer and cold words. It appeared her rejection was a first for him, and the Reaper soon became obsessed with her. Following her, continuing to attempt to seduce her, and in an odd way Loki fell to her charm instead of the other way around. She loathes his very existence, because he reminds her of the man that destroyed her, but he has become so intricated into her life that she cannot imagine moving forward without him somewhere. In a twisted way, Loranae has found herself attracted to him, but she would never admit it.
