< This thread's area goes from the Frozen Pond to the Snowpeak top, due to the scale of a dragon being in our presence. >
The boy's white hair blended in perfectly in the winter cold. The rest of him didn't. His left eye especially, for the red scar that cursed it made it especially standing-out in a storm like this. A bulky suitcase lugged at his side, the figure struggled to make it through the storm..
I.. can't go on.. for much longer..
He collapsed, breaking apart the light snow in front of him. Cold bit at him like he was roasting over flickering flames.. everything felt cold and hot at the same time.
At this rate, I'll..
But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't bring himself to rise.
Somebody..
..help..

So young to die in the unforgiving weather of Snowpeak. Among one of the walls that looked down upon the Frozen Pond a dark shape moved slowly, crawling along for a little bit. The smell was mostly human, rising up through the snow and almost dissipating into nothing the higher up it went.
The beast launched from the wall and landed over the body of the youth, sniffing its form more, though stopping at the youth's arm before sighing. At this age, the human was still almost too innocent, leaving him to die would be a little too heartless from him. His teeth closed onto the back of the clothes and he lifted him up, grabbing the bag with his claw as well.
With a jump and lurch, Deyu took to the sky and flew through the air with the child hanging from his teeth. To the on-looker, one would simply think that Deyu had killed the child. Higher and higher he flew, arriving near the top of Snowpeak before landing near a small cave, just big enough to hold his form.
He placed the body down on the cold stone ground and then left the cave once more, only to return several moments later with a few large chunks of timber. Soon a fire was set up near the child, and Deyu left the cave once more, in search for food for the child.

I wonder if this is what it feels like to die.. It's warm..
Suddenly, he felt a bit dizzy, trying to sit up, but failing to do so, his vision blurring. He could faintly see a crackling fire blazing in front of him, providing heat, but a figure caught his eye, exiting his field of vision. It was trailed by some spiny shape that seemed to be a tail - it was pretty big. The white-haired teen decided to lay down for a bit more, closing his eyes to make sure they didn't get damaged further. This wasn't heaven - he was sure he was alive. Then where was he? And what exactly was that giant shape that protruded out of sight? Out of the sleeve of his jet black, silver trimmed coat came a whizzing yellow ball, with miniature feet and arms the size of specks of gravel but huge wings and a puffy tail. "Oh, Lavi, so that's where you were.."[/blockquote][/blockquote]

A freshly killed deer would feed them both nicely. That was Deyu's thoughts as he flew back toward the cave, the blood of his kill dripping into his mouth and allowing him to enjoy the raw taste before it was changed when the child would liked it cooked. Humans never really understood how good raw meat was, it was a bit sad. However to each their own really.
Making sure that the child wasn't awake yet, Deyu flew across from the cave, looking in to see if the child was up or not. It wasn't really clear, but he did see something shimmer with the light of the fire. The kid must of been up. He knew not everyone enjoyed being face to face with a dragon, so he landed a bit from the cave and enjoyed half his kill before changing into his melee human form.
The blade on his back and the claws on his left hand would betray that he had killed the deer with these weapons, and after a bit of cleaning up the carcass and wrapping up what was left of the meat in a leather bag fashioned from the skin, he made his way back to the cave. Walking in, the mask covering his face and his armor the rest of his body, Deyu looked at the laying child and the strange golden thing that was flying around.
Strange magic, but it must of come from the boy, he was sure of it. He sat near the fire, opposite of the youth and drew his blade and uncovered the large chunk of meat. He slid it onto his blade like a giant bloody marshmallow and began to cook it for when the stranger he had saved woken up. "Cooking... such a waste..."

"Um.. I don't entirely get it but.."
The boy rose to a kind of keeling position and sat respectfully to the person across the fire, he appeared to be cooking something.
"You must have saved me, so thank you. I'm Ein."
Now that he spoke, he appeared to be in his late teens, but his voice was soft and rather feminine for a boy his age.
"And you are..?"

Deyu simply sat on the other side of the fire, watching the one who had now introduced himself as Ein without saying anything. He twisted the sword slowly, cooking the meat as evenly as he could for the lad. With a quick movement he tossed the meat onto the skin and pushed it over to Ein with a quick movement before getting to his feet.
He turned from the lad and walked over to the opening of the cave, leaning against the wall, his mask hiding his face. He was asked his name, though he had a feeling that he would of been asked. He was never glad with having to give people his name, due to the fact he tried to pride himself on being unknown.
However, he wouldn't like to be rude either. "Its... Deyu." He said softly, knowing that he had to give the youth enough time to recover from almost freezing to death. "Eat... it'll help warm you up."

Deyu blinked as he was thanked as 'Mr. Deyu' and with all the human's heart apparently. Strangely enough, Deyu kinda liked being thanked in such a way, though he didn't really want to have any more to do with this kid then he already was.
He however, couldn't stop watching as Ein devoured the meat that he had placed in front of him. It took so little time that Deyu began to wonder if he had judged the amount of food that humans usually ate, and if this kid would now go hungry because he didn't get him enough.
Deyu looked back out of the cave when the human spoke again, not wanting to let him know he had been watching him eat. He listened to the question before looking at the snowstorm outside. "Humans aren't that heavy in my true form... much easier to move them with wings."
He wondered if he might of said too much, and he turned back toward Ein, looking at him, wondering what the kid was doing trying to climb up the mountain anyway. "What where you up too?"

"Ah, well, you see, I travel a lot. So while I do so, I have to scout for food once in a while but.."
Ein cast a wistful look outside.
"There doesn't seem to be any herbs I can find in this area."
Lavi whizzed overhead, contemplating the man with the mask. Underlying, somehow, he knew what he was, and sent a mental message to Ein.
Dragon!
Cool mask..

"Traveling into the mountains alone and unprepared was a foolish action, no matter the reason." Deyu said, his voice focused and louder then he normally spoke. This child had almost killed himself in the most idiotic of ways for a reason he could of figured out if he had spent the time to ask. It angered Deyu.
With a sigh, Deyu walked out of the cave and looked back at Ein and Lavi, confused at the little golden orb. "What is... nevermind... stay here, I'll be back with some more food." He said, the snow swirling around him for a moment, revealing his true draconian form as he took off into the storm.
Deyu would be gone for just a few minutes, returning this time with a smaller prey, a simple rabbit and walking back to the cave, no longer caring if the youth saw his true form. "Rabbit."

Ein had only heard Deyu come back in. He was trying to warm up by the fire, taking in all the heat he could.
"Oh, you really did not have t-"
He looked over towards the entrance.
Where Deyu's voice had echoed was now a dragon.
All Ein could do was keep the polite smile that was etched across his face, because at the moment, he was blank with surprise. Then suddenly that surprise was replaced with a sort of blandness. He could have screamed or reacted in some way, but the timing would have been off, or some kind of unrelated nonsense like that.
Ein finished his happy words.
"You shouldn't have.."

Deyu stayed in his dragon form, looking down at the child. Whatever had happened while he was out had made the child a little quiet and apparently not all that interested in dealing with him any more. Deyu really didn't like it when people turned down his kindness, though he rarely showed that kindness to anyone.
With a growl, he turned from the kid. "Then eat and leave. I am not interested in helping some human." Deyu said, his voice shaking the cave, his wings folded against his arms and his tail dragging along the ground. He had saved the kid's life and brought him food, and now he was treating him differently? Screw that.

Ein laughed and scratched the back of his head.
"That timings a little off, Mr. Deyu.. you've already helped me."
With that, Ein stood and walked up to Deyu, tilting slightly to the side and inspecting Deyu over. Over his childhood, odd tastes had been developed through all the traumatization, one of them happened to be a fetish for monsters that thought for themselves.
"And, how could I just eat and leave without repaying you back? What an interesting guy you are, Mr. Deyu~" he said happily, folding his arms behind his back and giggling like a child that had gotten exactly what he asked for on christmas.

Deyu heard what the human said and cursed to himself, plopping down onto his hind-quarters before laying down, turning his head away from the kid, not wanting to bother with him anymore. "Thats not the point here!" He growled, trying to keep his cool, though he was feeling more then foolish at the moment.
Whoever this kid was, he certainly was trying Deyu's patience.
And now he was supposed to get something back from this kid? Some human who couldn't even take care of themselves on the mountain was supposed to do something? He closed his eyes and tried to ignore the kid, hoping he'd go away, but he had his suspicions it wasn't going to be easy.
"Well do it already and let me sleep!"

Ein crossed his arms and sent a comedic sarcasm -filled sense of perplexed contemplation out with a sigh and said blandly,
"I do wonder, though, how I could possibly please a dragon~ Hm..."
Ein sat down next to the great beasts head, quietly nodding and mentally planning to himself. He turned to Deyu and asked,
"Let's see, is there anything in particular you'd like, Mr. Deyu?"

Deyu hopped that his question would have deterred the human, even caused him to leave him alone. He heard the kid speak and hope that it meant that he would soon leave, but it seemed like whoever this kid was, he wanted to do something good.
Instead of leaving the kid sat down. Close to his head no less. If he wanted to, Deyu just had to move quickly enough to chomp on the kid and end it.
He probably wouldn't taste good though...
"What I'd like? Ha, I told you that I'd like to get to sleep you damned human." He said.
Inside of his mind, he was praising himself for acting so cool. He was a little happy actually, that the kid didn't seem as scared as before, even though Deyu himself looked quite fearsome.

"You want to go to sleep? Aw, Mr. Deyu, you're adorable~"
He spoke with a fangirl-like squealing, but the innocent child could clearly be heard in his voice. Clearing his throat,
"Then, I'll sing you a lullaby~ How about that?"
Resting slightly against the neck of Deyu, he smiled blankly at the ceiling.
"The same one she sang for me.. every night, before I fell asleep.."
He broke out into a small tune, his voice toned down to a low and soft audacity of peace, his tone much more mature as he remembered every line of the song. He would never forget them:
"Every starlit night, I stare into the sky,
And think about the times, just you and I.
But now we're two worlds apart.
If Heaven and Earth have the same sky,
then we're still connected, you and I.
Our time together was like a breeze,
slow and comforting, I felt at ease.
I'll never forget the times, just you and I,
As I looks towards that beautiful, starlit sky."
Ein brushed his hair flat using his palm. Never, he wouldn't forget..[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Deyu's closed eye twitched when the human called him adorable. Him. ADORABLE. He was definitely not adorable and he was definitely not a "'Mr." He was going to complain to the child when he felt him lean against his neck. Deyu opened one eye slightly at this, thinking about how much NERVE the child had, but then the next words confused him. A lullaby? What the hell was that? Sing it to him? Maybe the name of a song or some sort of spell. If it was a spell, he swore if it hurt him the human would simply vanish from life.
However, what he said next made him look at the boy a little softer. Someone had sang this 'lullaby' thing to him, some woman who was no longer there. A sad thing, yes, but Deyu wasn't someone to sing too.
That didn't stop Ein from singing this 'lullaby' to him, and Deyu listened to the song. By the end, he had wondered who would sing such a song. It was comforting, yes, but it was also a sad song. Deyu had to say something, right? Of course it was the wrong choice.
With a movement of his neck he pushed Ein off and rose to his feet, heading deeper into the cave and away from the open. "Your voice didn't suit that song at all. Now I can't sleep."

Despite the conditions, Ein chuckled. He really liked this indifferent side of Deyu, even though his eyes were enlarged enough that Ein could see that it softened. Scratching the back of his head good naturedly, he laughed,
"Big sis always said that I was a hopeless singer.."
No matter how far Deyu went him, Ein followed behind him, humming happily.
"I'm sorry if that didn't work.. hm.."
Ein put his hands on the side of Deyu's head and put his head near, as if checking for a pulse.
"You're really warm, Mister Deyu.. I would tuck you in, but there's no blanket and I guess I'm not big enough, huh.."
Ein turned around, careful not to touch Deyu with his back, and sat, wrapping the dry remains of his black traveling coat, enjoying the warmth. He was feeling slightly sleepy too now..

Deyu blinked and looked at the human, trying to figure out what he was doing. He just kept touching him. There was no reason for him to touch him. Deyu pulled back from the human and looked down at him, growling a bit.
"What is with you... I am a dragon... a beast... a monster..." Deyu said, growling at the boy.
"Yet you are treating me like I am some simple mutt... as for being warm... I am a cold blooded creature who's powers are based on ice."
