A boy with striped and thin white hair trudged through a sun stained forest. The threshold of the earth bore much long grass and serene plants, the tall trees shielded him from the sun, though, he was sure it wouldn't make much different, as the color white repelled light. A bulky-looking suitcase was slung over his shoulder, a small, brown, leather handbag on the other. Above his head, a spherical, golf-ball sized machine whizzed and flew gently around, large wings pattering the wind as he went, an elegant tail swishing this way and that as it turned, all of it colored with a dulled, but yet, brilliant gold color.
Hello there. I'm Einar. I decided to cut out my surname because I am no longer accepted in my own family. Call me Ein if you will.
And so, the boy named Ein continued on through Faron Woods, leaving a faint trail of footprints behind him from the rough bottoms of his boots.
There are a few odd things you should know about me before I can make my life story clear to you. For one thing..
Ein stared at his left arm as he continued to walk.
I share the arm of a demon. This arm is my only weapon, but it plagues me. It's nothing but an illness, and if I don't find a cure for it, it'll destroy me, and others. Along with that, the same beast that destroyed my childhood also..
Although he didn't have mirror, he didn't have to look at it to know it was there. The vision in his left eye, though faint, was tainted with a slight dullness. He looked in the mirror plenty enough to know that one it was, on top and bottom, was a jagged, cross-shaped scar that was tainted with blood red. The same color of his cursed arm.
..I appear to be 17, but I'm 9 years old.
He sighed heavily. Ein couldn't believe his bad luck, but there was no use in moping about it now. He just had to continue on. Ein stopped by a tree and set his luggage down, sliding down the tree's base and into a plump seat on soil. He stared up at the leaves, the stringing white hair slightly covering his rust-colored eyes over like the leaves of the trees over him.
..Big sis..
He bit his lip to hold back tears as the gold ball whizzed overhead, though, slightly slower, like it sobered up from a joke.

"Twenty-six, twenty-seven..."
The soft spoken, but high-pitched voice of a young cat girl could be heard counting. Her hands were covering up her gentle magenta eyes as she counted, and a smile curled up on her slender lips. Her dark tail with a white tip began swaying slowly in a sort of rhythmic pattern as if excited by the end of her count. Her matching colored feline ears perked up slightly trying to find a trace, or pick up the slightest sound of the rustle in the grass or within the thickets in the bushes. Seyka was playing hide & seek~ With who, you may ask? With her pet, Yui~!
The exotic looking creature scampered as quickly as it could into the distance. Trying to find the best hiding place, and out of sight from it's playmate. It could still hear her counting so that only meant that Yui hasn't traveled far enough to escape from the cat girl's superior hearing range. Any dramatic movements meant that Seyka could hear it, and instantly pick up the creature's locations in a heartbeat. "Twenty-eight, twenty-nine," she continued to count, her voice coated with enthusiasm as she came close to the final count.
Yui picked up the pace. Scuttling the closest ideal hiding spot it could find. That is until something caught it's attention, a stranger... It paused rather quickly in it's tracks as the white haired person caught it's interest. Yui didn't have any time to be picky with it's hiding place. "Thirty! Ready or not, here I come~"
Without a warning, the blue furred fox-rabbit hybrid creature frolicked over to the white haired young boy, hiding behind the tree, where he was sitting. It let out a strange noise, one could relate it closely to barking. It's three fluffy tails wagged back and forth, flashing it's garnet jewels for eyes up at the young boy, as if trying to comfort him. Yui was a rather intelligent creature, and could tell that he was fighting off a turmoil.
Seyka didn't waste a second, lowering her hands off of her eyes, and began the hunt for her adorable little pet. She placed her slim finger on her bottom lip pondering where could her Yui could have run off to~

The golden ball slightly pecked Ein, but softly. Slightly sniffling and wiping his eyes dry, he said under his breath,
"You're right Lavi.. as long as I look grown up I should act like it."
Then,
" *BARK LIKE NOISE* "
Ein jumped in his seat, his back sliding uncomfortably against the old tree's bark, letting out a squeal of his own, though, slightly more feminine and lighter than the Yui's.
He took a second to anxiously examine the creature - it was nothing like he'd ever seen before, but frankly, it wasn't a monster ( or something capable of hurting him badly ) or else his left eye would have lit up in a shade of red. Slowly, Ein settle back down into a slight kneeling position. He let his human-looking hand slightly stretch out at the creature, shaking slightly. Finally, he softly touched the top of Yui's head, and proceeded to slightly pet her.
"Guess this is what you see in Hyrule, huh.."

The fox-rabbit hybrid's eyes flickered with amusement as if laughing at the surprise the poor boy got. At least he knew he wasn't alone anymore. He looked like he could use the attention, and the spoiled little creature loved getting the affection. Yui cooed as Ein petted her. It's multiple tails wagging happily, and excited to recieve his attention.
"I see how it is," Seyka said staring at her pet. Oh yes, she didn't take long at all to find them. To Seyka, Yui was quite infamous for being a little noise maker, and tends to create a ruckus for the cat girl to follow. It wasn't until she picked up the yelp the boy made that she caught onto where her pet was hiding. A bubbly smile formed upon her curved feline lips. The Picori kitty's gentle magenta eyes looking down at the boy with curiosity, and wonder. "You've taken a liking to him, haven't ya, Yui~?"
Yui barked in a chipper tone as she nuzzling her head lovingly against Ein's hand. Seyka couldn't help but giggle heading down on her knees as well to get a better look at the stranger her pet took a liking to. Now that she got a closer inspection on him, he didn't appear as old as she thought he'd be - in fact, he was a young boy. She blinked a couple of times absentmindedly. "I hope my pet hasn't given you any trouble," she said sweetly. "My name's Seyka, and that little attention-seeker you're petting is Yui," she finished teasing her pet. Yui returned a glare back to Seyka in response.
"Who might you be?"
(OOC: No worries, dear. It looks fine to me. ^w^)

"Oh!- Um! This is- not what it looks like, just happened to stumble across - traveling you see- met by chance- didn't mean to, um, uh, come in-into contact with your pet or- or anything-!"
It wasn't very good for his first meeting with a (seemingly) human being in this new land. He was so shocked to see another person over a span of possibly a week that he overreacted. He came by many animals, so he was not very lonely, but still.
Ein quickly gave a deep bow.
"I-I'm sorry!" he stutteringly apologized one last time before he gathered his things and took a step to his right when he tripped on a tree root that stuck out and fell iwth an uncomfortable thud. His chin now throbbed and seared with pain..
"Ooww.."
Lavi danced overhead, trying to discern wether Ein was hurt badly or not. Ein sheepishly turned around and scratched his head,
"I'm Ein."
(( I still think it looks short. ;-; ))

Seyka stared, and stared... and then stared some more. The petite cat girl blinked a couple of times absentmindedly. She was put at a loss of words at the sudden outburst the young man made. She stood there as if in a daze, but in reality she had no idea what to do at that moment. What in Din's name was that about? It was as if he'd been out of touch with any form of social contact whatsoever for a long period of time.
She perked up her ears as she watched him get up off his knees as quick as a jack rabbit on the run from a wolf. Though unlike a jack rabbit, he stumbled upon a tree root that protruded out of the ground. The cat girl flinched at the sound of his crash onto the ground knowing that must've hurt. Turning around in a sort of mousy form, he gave her his name. She tried her hardest not to laugh at him on how he overreacted, but that was the craziest thing she's never came across with~ She took a few steps on over to the boy, standing up, and extended her hand out to him to help him up. "Nice to meet you Ein," she said sweetly, trying not to scare him away.
Yui scampered over to Ein once more nuzzling her blue furred head against him. Seyka couldn't help but allow a soft giggle to escape from her lips. "Don't worry, you're not in any trouble with me because Yui likes you," she said lightheartedly, "She likes having friends~ I feel the same way. Don't you agree?"

Ein couldn't help but let out a tiny blush. This woman was not only pretty, but very kind. How long had it been since someone treated him like this? Nobody but his sister.. and she was dead now. Ein barely caught Sekya's last question,
"U-um, well.."
He looked sheepishly at her feet and said in a small, distant voice,
"I don't really think friends are that great.."
It was only half the truth - he was indeed a popular child when he still looked like one, but because of accelerated aging, he didn't get the chance to stay with them for long. They all turned their backs on him, and he felt thoroughly put out. Relationships in general weren't a very popular concept to Ein, for even his parents and adults he liked took part in banishing him.
Absentmindedly, he continued to pet Yui, but he retained a sad and unkept look in his expression.

Her magenta eyes flickered with piqued curiosity. Now why would he say something like that? The naivete adored the small blush that tinted his pale skin giving him a little color, a little more life back into him. He looked like a poe had possessed him, and spat him out. His snow white hair was very beautiful. An unnatural shade for one so young, she had a hard time at first trying to convince herself that he was but a young boy. "That's because you haven't had the right kind of friends," she explained confidently, "What you need is a true friend, but those come with all sorts of requirements."
She perched herself right next to Ein. Her kitty cat ears twitching a couple of times as she scratched behind her ears for a second to collect her thoughts. Right~ The etiquette in being a true friend.
"First and foremost, it's nice to smile, because it's healthy~ Did you know it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile?" she said as if giving the young boy a lecture on optimism, but honestly it was innocent advice, "Second, you need a companion whose willing to become your friend. You have two potential candidates right here, ne?"
All she was saying was that if he wanted, Seyka and Yui would more than gladly be his new found friends. She flashed him a soft, sweet smile, swaying her tail slightly. Yui was enjoying herself to the fullest cooing like a pup being praised for a good deed with the continuous petting Ein was giving her.
"While it is true that you probably don't need any friends..." she spoke honestly, "Don't you think it feels nice not to be lonely?" It was easier to accept the harsh tones of reality by accepting that there was a silver lining through the dark clouds. Or rather, a better term to use since they were in a forest, glimmer of lights that protruded defiantly against the blockade of leaves that shimmered on top of the canopy of the thickets of foliage. Easier to accept things such a tragedy, and despair, and still... smile through the tears.

Ein lightly traced his lips with a thin finger, apparently in a trance of thought.
Not to be lonely..
"I.. still don't know who I can trust, but, in the meantime, maybe you two will do."
Lavi perched himself on Ein's head, peering curiously down at Yui, as if to ask it wether it thought it was a good enough replacement for him or not.
"And um.. I'm not very good with talking, so.. sorry if I'm quiet," he added hurriedly, retracting a spiny hand from Yui's head and crossing his arms across his knees. However, with a half-hopeful and hesitant smile, Ein looked back at the purple-haired girl and asked,
"Can I have your name too?"

She smiled softly. Seyka couldn't help but ponder on what kind of life this young boy had before he came here. Judging from his suitcase, she could only guess that he wasn't familiar with these parts, and was just traveling out of his way. It wasn't until now, being closer, did she notice some distinct features he had as well. He appeared to have some kind of unique scar over his eye. His other arm was strange too.
Other than that, he seemed like a normal person. He acted pretty normal as well, if only a bit shy. Then again, she really couldn't judge people by appearance alone. They only told stories of their past, and it would seem like his was siding on the tragic part of life~
Of course, it would take time for him to earn any bit of trust in others. It came naturally for everyone. Trust was a hard thing to earn, but it was easily broken. Anything can break it, and it took much longer to mend if the heart wasn't willing to do so. "Trust is something that must grow on you," she explained. "From now on, we'll be working on that, ok?"
Seyka watched as the golden sphere-like object with wings peered down at Yui. The hybrid creature squeaked innocently curious of Lavi. It tried to get it's fore paw up to reach the golden sphere but it was a futile endeavor. It's three fluffy tails moving in sync showing it's glee in playing together with everyone. Seyka's chipper personality rubbed off on the hybrid after she picked it up, and kept it as a pet of her own. She was a hopeless lover of animals that was for sure~
"That's ok," she giggled softly. The young boy with white hair looked so much better with a smile. It was like a candle was lit in a dark room, and everything seemed so much clearer. "You may call me Seyka, or Sey Sey. Whatever works."

"Th-thank you Miss Seyk.."
Ein broke off, realizing that he was crying.
So kind people like her exist after all..
Hurriedly wiping them away, staining the blocky red rock that was his left arm, Ein finished with a sobered up smile.
"Thank you Miss Seyka."
Lavi pecked at Yui playfully until eventually they began to chase each other. Ein absentmindedly fidgeted with his left hand. The black fingernails never grew long, the engraved cross never let out any signs of growing faint, and mosquitoes seemed to avoid the very skin.
That's right.. I never trusted anybody except for her. But she's dead now, and, well, she wouldn't want me to mope over her when I have a cure to find.

Her dark kitty cat perked up noticing the boy breaking off from finishing his sentence. The next thing she knew he was in tears. Her own magenta eyes flickered with sympathy, feeling guilt wash over her frame, as if she said something that offended him. Oh dear~
It was almost instinctively, Seyka wrapped her lithe little arms around the young man, and brought him close to her, removing any bit of personal space that existed between them. She gave him a nice big warm hug. Hugs were nice, comforting, and a good way to tell another person that you liked them. She had to resist squeezing him not wanting to put a choke hold on him or anything, but she gave him a nice lengthy embrace.
Personal space? No such thing with the cat girl~
When she released him, she gave him a soft smile, happy that she could at least cheer him up. He smiled like a little boy. Then again his demeanor was that of an innocent child... or rather the remnants of that innocent child. He may have come across some things in life that turned it darker than it should have. Nobody truly deserved to suffer in this world, but that didn't mean you had to completely ignore it. Acceptance was but the first steps to leading a better - if not, a more stable lifestyle. "Just call me Seyka or Sey Sey," she said poking his nose gently. "Let's not get formal on each other, alright?"
Yui managed to pounce on Lavi, and soon enough the two were rolling in the grass. They got the right idea in playing with each other unaware of the moe scene taking place between Seyka and Ein. Now that it came across her mind, she couldn't resist getting to know him better, starting her first string of questions, "You're... not from around here, are you? Where are you traveling?"

Suddenly embarrassed for acting like such a child in front of the first person who ever showed him kindness in this strange land, he tried to compensate by stuttering before - before he was hugged.
Many warm and heavenly adjectives flooded Ein's brain as his blush intensified, the words that were on the tip of his tongue suddenly rolled off into a incoherent whimpering. It felt weird to feel something like this after being isolated for so long, but it felt like he was back with the one who truly cared about him again.
Clearing his throat and trying to make is blush seem like nothing, Ein re-adjusted his ribbon and said hesitantly,
"You're correct, I don't live here- my hometown is located in the country of **********. It's.. painful to talk about it but.. in short, I.."
Ein's fingers traveled up to his left eye, the one with the scar. The skin touched the glossy surface until, abruptly, it rose in a maroon flare - his pupils turned into a shape that was nothing short of metallic, and it seemed to glow.
"..am cursed - I was given this eye and my left arm by some monster I don't even remember, and the result was, I ended up looking like a teenager from accelerated growth."
Letting his left eye close, it returned to it's natural shape, but Ein looked a little crestfallen.
"That's right.. I'm only 9 years old."
(( Yes, that was meant to be censored. ))

All of the things Seyka wanted to call him, she had to restrain voicing her opinion, realizing that she may insult him if she started calling him cute. She couldn't resist hugging him though~ The cuddle fluff of love knew that he needed one, and it was the best medicine to turn a frown upside down.
The feline minish was raised on the belief that kindness was a trait that nobody was born with. People were naturally selfish creatures, but if they truly wanted to, they could learn how to be kind to others. Hopefully the world could see how far such a little bit of that sincerity can go to change the life of another - if only by a little to carry on the rest of the way.
The cat girl couldn't help but wonder if this is what it feels like to hold a younger sibling or something similar to the sorts. Being an only child left her being the center of attention to her parents, when they were still alive, and she always talked about having a brother or sister. Having Ein in her arms was quite an endearing emotion, and she had to remind herself that she couldn't keep holding him forever. She smiled once again loving how adorable he appeared, but restrained once again from saying anything. The last thing you wanted to tell a young man was that he was cute~
When he began to answer Seyka's question, his expression quickly turned around, and the kitty's eyebrows furrowed slightly. As she listened, she watched as Ein displayed the scar upon his eye. Within a split second, it changed colors, exposing what it's truly capable of doing. She tilted her head slightly as he explained that he was cursed. That would explain his snow white hair, and the odd shape the scar on his face took. It also explained the poor thing's arm, and why it took a different shape than the rest of his body. What she didn't expect was the accelerated growth part or even the fact that it existed.
"You're only nine years old?" she asked, mildly surprise. "I would have never guessed! So... umm... Is there anything you can do to lift the curse?"

Ein let out a small sigh of exhaustion, fully realizing the task he was setting before himself.
"Yeah. That's why I came here - to find a cure. I know someday I'll die because of it."
He pt his hands on his knees, the thin white hair draping over his eyes.
"It's true, I hate being alone. I want to be back to the life I liked. I don't want to die."
The hands on his knees turned into trembling fists as he looked back at Seyka.
"I know this request is selfish but.. if the curse does kill me, could you be there for me, if nobody else?"
Lavi flew over and perched on Ein's shoulder, letting out a small, sad droning noise.
(( My posts keep getting shorter because Seyka has the mental thought range of 5 bathtubs. @_@ ))

Seyka didn't realize the extent of the boy's journey. Compassion overwhelmed the cat girl's lithe little frame. It would be more than an understatement for her to express how much she felt sorry for him. Seyka was a healer, but she'd never recall finding a cure for a curse, especially one as complex as Ein's curse. She didn't realize how cruel of a fate he had been dealt with. "Is that so..." she muttered in reply, listening to the rest of his story.
She hesitated for a second, but quickly removed anything holding her back as she petted his head, tucking a few strands of his hair behind his ears. If only to provide a bit of comfort for Ein. She wished there was much more she could do to help him through it. So young, and already had to experience tragedies when he should have just grown up into a fine young gentleman from his home. She blinked a couple of times heeding his request.
"That's a big request to be asking someone you just met," she mused lightheartedly, "... but that is if it does kill you. Who can say that you find a cure before that happens?"
She had hope. Seyka couldn't stay depressed, or at least within a depressed atmosphere for long. If anything, she'd try to make it better, to the best of her ability. It came as natural as the primal instincts everyone was born with. You couldn't stay sad forever. "I'm not a specialist on curses or anything of that nature, but what I am is a healer. If you want, I could help you find this cure?" she offered.
Seyka wasn't exactly sure how much help she could be, but something in the back of her mind told her otherwise, she needed to help him out. If she could bring back the boy's happiness then perhaps she would have made a difference somehow.

Ein stared at Seyka, flabbergasted.
"Would you really?"
Ein looked hurriedly back at his fidgeting knees, at a loss for words. What had he done to receive this kindness? Not in a bad way of course.
Ein suddenly looked crestfallen. With a thoroughly put-our look, he stared at his left hand and flexed it, a few bones crackling in the stretch.
"I wonder.. do you really want to hang around a guy who's claw might lash out at you at any moment. That was and still is a problem too you know.."
Letting his arm drop back down, he said heavily,
"That's partly why I'm all the way out here, you know.. my town banished me for my claw going out of control and destroying everything. That's why I said I didn't think friends were that great.. because in the end, I would hurt them."
"Even through all of that you're.."
Ein broke off, biting his lips.
(( I feel like Ein is doing all the talking and you're doing all the thinking. What am I doing ,writing a script? ;-; ))

Did she really say something that outrageous? As he asked her if she would, she nodded her head simply.
"Why not?" she meowed. "You didn't say I couldn't or I'm not allowed. Either way, even if you did protest, you wouldn't be able to be rid of me that easily. Not unless I wanted to leave you~"
Seyka was going to be persistent. Her bubbly smile returned back onto her kitty cat mouth. Her ears twitching a couple of times. She listened to his words, wondering if the young cat girl was willing to stay with him, regardless if he was a danger to those around him. She tilted her head slightly to the side. "I guess that'll be part of the test," she mused, "I honestly don't think you'll have to worry about my safety. I may not be Hyrule's champion, but I am strong enough to defend myself."
You had to be strong in order to survive the hostilities Hyrule provided. Ein appeared conflicted. Opening up and sharing his story about his monstrous hand. "I think in one way or another, people get hurt naturally. It's apart of life you know~ You either say the wrong things at the wrong place at the wrong time, or even your case," she paused glancing at his hand, "It would be that your claw assaulted people. It can't be helped if people are afraid of you, but... that doesn't mean you have to shut the world away. For instance, if you'd let me, I'll do my best to help you. I'll watch your back, and my own."

Ein suddenly hugged Seyka.
"I LOVE YOU!"
It took a full moment of awkward pause before he let go, rubbing tears out of his eyes.
"I'm sorry. You're very kind. It would be an honor to recieve your help."
Lavi settled down in the nest of stringy white hair on Ein's head and circled around until he found a comfortable spot to settle. Ein crossed his legs and sobered up, "I guess if you're helping, I'll explain a bit more. Let's see.. To be more precise, it's not really an illness as much as it is just the swapping of arms with a demon in general."
He let the burning red handcurl into a fist. Holding it out with a hesitant smile. It had the same quality s ever - the kind that would make one thing it was carved out of extremely flexible stone.
"It's a tad too big for me, it doubles as a weapon, and, well, the flesh inside it doesn't correspond well with mine. I.."
Ein stopped and took a small gulp.
"..happened to have a lot of waking-up-during-the-middle-of-the-night-in-pain moments when I was 6.."
"Because of that incorrect match-up, it's more of a scientific infection than a curse."
Ein pointed good-naturedly to his left eye.
"This seems to be more supernatural. It allows me to see monsters, but it hurts if left on for too long. Most of my early life was spent in pain.. my big sister is the person who helped me get through it all, but I don't have her now.
Sound familiar?"

Her magenta eyes flickered brightly taken by surprise of Ein's embrace. Her smile never left her lips glad to bring back his joy. His enthusiasm was quite a heart warmer if she did say so herself. His statement was quite an overstatement though~
"It would be an honor to help you out, Ein," she replied back merrily.
As he released her from his hug, he began to explain more details about his conditions, Seyka listened closely, contemplating about it all. Her kitty cat ears perked up as he lifted his arm out in display. She tapped her index finger onto her bottom lip. "Interesting~"
It was certainly interesting, but she began to speculate there was something more than just random outburst his hand tends to have. Should his hand truly have been switched out by a demon's then perhaps because of the loss of control wasn't really Ein's fault. She turned her head back over to the young lad, and tilted her head over to the side. "This is probably just a speculation but what if the actions that happened because of this arm of yours wasn't of your doing?" she asked rather dubiously.
"I mean, let me phrase it another way... What if the hand you've been given is being controlled entirely by the demon that swapped limbs with you? Perhaps even just temporary, but that demon has full control of your arm's functions, ne?"
When Ein mentioned his sister, she felt a wave of sympathy wash over her frame. It reminded her that he was a lot younger than he appeared to be, and as a child he still needed an emotional support to guide him. To at least show him, and shed some light in life. She wagged her tail softly and beamed. "Well, I can't replace your sister by any means," she explained, "Though what I can do is stay by your side as long as you want me around~ Assistance is what I try to provide."
