[OOC: Up to four member slots are available, and you can't be in multiple plot threads. If you're skipped twice in a row or three times total, you get the boot. I'll be posting 24 hours, as well as I can. I'm not gonna be too harsh with the bootin', but if you know beforehand that you're not going to be able to post for a significant amount of time, you probably shouldn't sign up. This isn't to be an ass, just to try and keep things even and give plenty of people a chance to join up and to ensure that the thread actually gets finished. Combat here will use LS style. I'll handle all calculations, and if you don't have LS-style damage/whathaveyou in your CS, I'll approximate it.]
Two hovering wrinkled midgets were rampaging throughout the Outlying Islands in what could best be described as a "whirlwind of menopause." If any veil of peace had ever been drawn over the Outlying Islands, it had a planet-sized hole blown in it. Trails of flame and ice were drawn across the islands in haphazard patterns, burnt trees and glassed sand here, while frozen water trailed along the shoreline. Patches of ice criss-crossed about the shoreline, though where they crossed with the scorches sand, there was an eerily unaffected patch of land.
Ahead of the blaze/tundra of destruction left behind them, the two aforementioned midgets were spinning around and flinging magic everywhere in very, very evident frustration. She wore a long robe about her and rode on a broomstick, while hair of burning flame shot out from the rear-end of her head, the rest of which was about as attractive as the average person's rear-end. She had a hook-nose, several warts, green skin, and huge bug-eyes with miniscle yellow pupils. On her forehead there was a huge red jewel, glowing menacingly whenever she fired off some of her magic. She had several crooked (or missing) teeth and looked like the sort of person who would always have bad breath.
"Where is it! He said it'd be here!" she shrieked, idly tossing a ball of flame at a particularly loathsome-looking rock.
"It's around here somewhere! Your huge nose is just getting in the way!" the other screamed, as blue and icy as her sister was red and hot.
"Remember, I get to use it first!" the burning one shrieked, tossing around some more fire to set a series of trees ablaze.
"Sure! The older one should go first anyway!"
The two of them probably would've continued to wreak utter havoc and exchange lame insults for all eternity until, in the sky, a huge creature appeared, a massive silver snake coiling about a huge yellow tortoise. The tortoise was about the size of a small island.
The sisters, promptly, lost their shit.
"WHAT IS THAT THING?!"
"THIS IS YOUR FAULT!"
"SHUT UP IT'S COMING RIGHT AT US!"
It was, indeed, coming right at them, the silver snake snapping menacingly as the two creatures began to plummet. The twin sisters flew around in manic circles, arms waving, magic firing everywhere, until the huge monstrosity bore down on them--
And nothing happened. The creature vanished into thin-air, and the siblings blinked.
"Well crap. They're gonna notice that."
"This is your fault!"
"Shut up or I'll burn you to the bone! Let's get moving! It's not far."

The youthful Gerudo woman had been enjoying a much needed nap when she had been ever so rudely disturbed by who knows what. She rose from her slumber, an ugly grimace on her face to reflect her thoughts on the subject of being woken up so violently. Layla stood up to dust the fluffy sand from herself, shaking her hair as well so the granules wouldn't get stuck in her eyes. It was really a pain to get sand in ones eyes. Growing up in the desert, she knew that all too well.
Finding the disturbance had been quite effortless. The two crazy old bats flying around sporadically were a dead giveaway. Using quick, lithe steps, Layla made her way over to them to see what the hell was going on. She had made it just in time to see the great silver snake and giant tortoise.
Her eyes widened in one of the emotions she rarely felt, fear. Utter fear. Somehow, with shaky hands, the woman grabbed her bow from its resting place behind her back and strung an arrow, preparing to defend herself. What good would it do, really, if she were targeted? But it seemed that the snake was more interested in the psychotic witches.
And just like that, it was gone. Layla began to relax, until she heard one of the witches saying that it wasn't far away. Were she sane, she'd have run to safety. But she felt it was more important to find out what was going on. With her bow still ready to be fired off at moment's notice, she took off after the two sisters, trying her best to keep a pace that would keep her from losing them but still remain undetected.

Jin stood with his back against a tree, breathing quietly as he felt the heat and cool battle for control over the area, the two small witches burning or freezing whatever they wished to. They where crazy, he could see that much, and they randomly attacked whatever attracted their interest. Jin wanted to stop them, but he didn't want to rush straight into their wild attacks.
He was about to move to a new spot when something in the sky caused him to stop in his tracks. A turtle and a snake. Something huge and easily noticeable. However, Jin felt almost a kin-ship to the large beasts, more so then to the two witches who seemed to be freaking out. A part of him wanted the turtle and snake to rid the island of the two, but nothing happened. In fact, it seemed as if the two creatures were never there in the first place.
Jin moved over to an area closer to the two witches, glad that they had calmed down a bit, or at least they weren't toasting then flash-freezing anything they wanted anymore. Jin made sure to adjust his Bucklers and his shield, making sure he was ready at a moments notice to defend himself now. When the time was right, he'd defend the majestic sky turtle and snake.

Merik stood at the prow of a small galley as half the crew aboard worked the oars. He had been at one of the pirate outposts when word had reached him of elemental magics affecting the isles seemingly at random. Knowing the Defiant couldn't offer him the kind of speed he would need he grabbed a portion of his crew and the fastest galley he could find and set off.
It wasn't long before the burning and frozen portions of the islands became apparent to the crew and it made the Gerudo a little more concerned about what was going on. Then had come the abrupt appearance and disappearance of the giant turtle and snake that had caused a slight stir among the hands. As they neared the place where the creatures had disappeared he heard two very familiar voices coming from two distant women as they continued their onslaught.
"FULL SPEED AHEAD!" he roared as he narrowed his eyes at the distant witches, very curious about what they were doing until he was close enough that he figured they'd be able to hear him. "Ahoy ladies! I've got a lot of thoughts going through my head but in particular I have two questions here: one; what exactly you are trying to do...aside from cause a lot of damage? And two; is there anything I can help you with that will get you to stop destroying my realm?!"

Rennal had volunteered to go, despite swearing never to go back home again. But he had to know if Jarreth was alive. He stood next to Merik, staring out in despair as the fire and ice became apparent to him. Was Jarreth alright? Was father alright? He didn't care much for Mother, but not even she deserved a death like this. Be merciful, by the goddesses.
My realm. It was the only two words reverberating in Rennal's mind as they came close to the two witches. I was here first, he thought. I was born here. This is my realm. Captain.
"I doubt a pair of witches will listen to reasoning, sir," he whispered, trying to convince himself he was just here to check on Jarreth and Father.

"Ho ho ho! Looks like someone is here, Koume!""Hee hee hee! Looks like a lot of someones, Kotake!"The twin sisters turned aside from their mutual destruction of the island's renewable resources to address the fact that they'd been joined by what amounted to half a troupe of adventurers. They frowned, which really didn't do much to change their facial structure which was nearly always set in a sort of eternal grimace, as though there was a piece of uncooked onion stuck between their teeth. "Should we thrash these outrageous punks, sister?!""I'll burn them to the bone!" Koume declared, raising a finger thusly. "I'll freeze them to the soul!""Freeze them to the soul? That's the best you can come up with?! Halfwit!""Old hag!""OLD?! YOU'RE the old one! I'm only 380!""We're twins! Don't lie, sister! Or maybe you're just going SENILE!"They probably would've continued on like this for quite some time, heedless of both their own mission and the people who'd been attracted by their little reign of terror. Would have, that is, if the Gerudo King hadn't showed up, in a boat. "What are we trying to do? WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO DO?! Tell him, Kotake!""We're trying to do what you couldn't! Trying to find the Fountain of Youth!""You weren't supposed to say THAT! IDIOT!" Koume shrieked, beating Kotake over the head. "NOW BE A GOOD BOY AND HELP YOUR GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHER!" Koume cried, before she lit the tail end of her broom on fire and tossed out three elemental mines. Kotake, likewise, did the same, except with ice.

"Not just witches but High Priestesses of the Goddess of Sands. It was they who advised me to lead my people to sea and gave me the gifts that have saved my life countless times..." Merik replied, trailing off as the witches started speaking. "...which apparently they did because I'm their great-great-great-grandson."
He had to quickly weigh his options: as it stood he had no way of knowing if they were telling the truth (and he'd never know for sure if they were killed). Though everything that they had done for him so far had been to his benefit and that of the Gerudo...and they were certainly old enough to match the claim. And if they were in fact his grandmothers he definitely wanted them alive...
With a look of grim determination the Gerudo summoned his blades.
Flamestrike from Koume...
Frostbite from Kotake...
"No one interfere with them! Any who interfere I will count as my enemy and deal with as such! 'Grandmother...s' I ask you to cease your attack and I'll help you. Most of these gathered serve with me aboard my ship and I've just finished finding new crew members to replace losses incurred on land so I would ask that none of them be harmed."

Jin stood in the shadows of the trees, though he was sure that he was already found by what one of the two witches had said. He aimed to make his way closer to the shore, trying to keep directly out of the line of fire of the two witches. When he figured he was in a close enough area, Jin shouted out. "We need to be careful though! If you saw that thing in the sky, you would think twice about trying to unleash it!" He called out, not showing himself still.
The Gerudo King was on their side, which meant that at least one other person was going to be against him if he fought. He wasn't a fan of fighting, but if he could keep the destruction down to a minimum, maybe things could be safer for everyone. Taking a deep breath and showing himself, Jin hoped he wouldn't have to defend himself. While he wasn't a Gerudo, he still knew about them and his appearance would definitely show them he was one of the desert.
"I won't attack... but we should be careful about what we are doing. I... don't want to make a giant turtle and snake that could project themselves mad at me..." He said, hoping he wouldn't get attacked.

She was conflicted. Her King and Captain commanded that no one attack, but she felt that his apparent grandmothers were definitely at fault. Not that she thought the snake turtle thing was completely innocent, it was more so that the crazy old bats meant everyone harm. These thoughts were soon backed up by the appearance of a group of elemental balls.
For now, Layla would silently obey. Her bow, however, remained out and trained on one of her King's grandmothers. She trusted Merik, but she had a bad feeling about leaving herself defenseless. This bargaining wasn't wise. These witches looked like they'd attack regardless of their connection to Merik. The minute they attacked him, she'd let loose a flurry of arrows in response.

Rennal saw the rest of the crew and they seemed just as edgy as he. He put a hand on the hilt of his sword, gripping it like iron. He glared down the witches, not making a move. "Sir, are you sure this is wise? To bargain with witches? We don't even know if their word is honourable," he whispered to his captain again, staying by his side. He always did. Wherever Merik went, Rennal followed.
Then again, he might not have much choice if Jarreth and Father were still alive, and intended on keeping them as such. But he had a terrible feeling. And those fire and ice balls weren't making it any easier to relax.
He looked up at the witches, their stupidity confusing him and their anger making him angry. Not even he acted so childish, around anyone as a matter of fact. "Stupid old hags," he muttered under his breath. "You really do need the fountain of youth..."

BOSS BATTLE ... pause?
"That's a smart kiddo! Now help us look all up and down this island for the Fountain of Youth! It's gotta be around here somewhere!"
"Koume!"
"WHAT?!" Kotake shrieked, turning to Koume and glaring at her.
"Don't you think we could get this done faster if we used our special technique?!"
"Y'know, I think you're right. And we won't need to waste energy fighting off any intruders, either! Perfect!"
The twins suddenly started spinning in loose circles, closing the circumference slowly, until eventually they rammed right into each other! However, instead of a stream of curses and a vicious sibling infight, there was a flash of bright, red-blue light, and suddenly ... well, take a look for yourself....
"How do you like me now?" Twinrova asked, with a seductive wink that anyone who thought too hard about where exactly the Gerudo seductress had come from would probably want to kill themselves over. "Come on, kids. Let's find that fountain. Some of you look like you could use it~"
Congrats! By avoiding the confrontation, you skipped the fight with Koume, Kotake, and their elemental orbs! Of course, you probably don't want to piss this lady off....

Rennal growled, tempted to draw his sword and end the witches where they stood. But they had magic. He didn't... he didn't know how to use magic at all.
He pursed his lips as the witches merged, and became one lady. He blinked. Two people in one body? It's hard enough trying to be one person...
"Sir, what are you going to do?" He asked Merik, hoping he'd decide against whatever he was thinking right now. He didn't trust the witches.

Just as confused as the others, if not a little bit more, Merik turned to Rennal as his blades dispelled in a burst of smoke and fog.
"If they...she...whichever, is telling the truth then I need to know; people have been trying to wipe us out for the last century and a newly found Dragmire is a fairly big thing for me. And if it turns out that they're just full of lies, we'll still have the Fountain of Youth in our grasp." the King said as the galley drifted close enough for him to hop into the shallows. "C'mon lad, lets see what other surprises the day has for us.
Looking around he saw Layla and the new man who had spoken moments before as he made his way to shore.
"Or the Turtle and Snake were simply illusions to dissuade would be thieves. I don't run especially from illusions and if they wind up being real...well greater the risk, greater the reward; and the Fountain of Youth sounds like a great reward to me. Oh, and I'm Merik; this is my Arm's Master, Iadar, and my Lieutenant, Layla."

Jin was transfixed on Twinrova, his eyes as wide as dinner plates and the world around him was almost fully downed out due to the thoughts running through his head. However, he claimed down for a moment when Merik introduced himself and the two others that he was with, and Jin felt himself becoming a little meek again.
"I am Jin Reno... Desert Tortoise is a nickname I gained." He said, trying to make himself sound a bit more important then he really was in front of the King of the Gerudo people. While it wasn't an impressive nickname, he hoped that it'd make them at least a little friendlier around him, instead of possibly just treating him as an outsider.
He looked over at Twinrova once more and was suddenly entranced again, and he moved closer to the floating woman. "That was amazing! You look amazing! How did you do that?! That was awesome! And your hair! Amazing!" Jin was acting more like a kid then anything, but he had rarely seen magic, let alone fusion magic.
He was entranced by their magic and a little bit by their beauty. Lets just say that he hadn't put two and two together yet, but he was lost in the awe-inspiring trap of magic.

With the elemental monsters gone, Layla felt comfortable enough to lower her bow. She had made her way over to Captain Merik after the transformation his grandmothers took. Or, was it simply 'grandmother', now? Dear Goddess, this was just too ridiculous for her to understand. She gave a short wave of the hand as greeting when Merik introduced her to the only fellow she hadn't been acquainted with.
The only reason she wasn't freaking out right now was because Merik was not. It was difficult for her to keep her cool, still. What was taking place was just way too much for her brain to process in such a short time. At the moment, Merik was pretty much the only one that was keeping her from destroying what she thought, and still had a slight suspicion, to be her enemies. Well, that and their(her?) offer of a great adventure.

Twinrova smiled. It was nice to surprise people with the sudden change from two old hags into a powerful, beautiful sorceress. The biggest problem was getting the sisters to agree long enough for them to come together ... but as one, their power was far greater than their seperate powers combined. They walked over to where Merik stood, smiling at him.
"Oh, you seem to be doing quite [/i][/color] a good job of leading your people ... yes. How about you bring that crew of yours to shore, hm? They might proove useful in the search," Twinrova said, with a wink. She turned to the other three with some measure of interest, though she didn't seem particularly intrigued. After all, she had a vested interest in the Gerudo King. His lackeys ... not so much. She raised an eyebrow at the excited child, but didn't deign to respond. He did not particularly concern her.[/blockquote]

"If you intend to sacrifice any of them I tell you now I won't allow it 'grandmother', assuming you are truly my grandmother as I have naught but your word that you are...but I won't deny that they could definitely help in the search. All hands ashore! Those who've been rowing have a rest and guard the ship; the rest of you with us, arms at the ready." Merik said as around thirty people joined them on the shore, drawing their blades as soon as they approached.
"If you have an idea of where the Fountain is 'grandmother' then by all means lead the way."

When he was ignored by the witch woman, Jin felt like he was cheated a bit. If she had played to his innocent side, then he probably would of been a much better help with the quest, now though, he was going to drag his legs a bit and keep his eyes on the multi-elemental haired woman. Jin decided that anyone who was rude to him when he was just curious deserved to be not trusted and watched like a hawk.
However, he was distracted once more when up to thirty more people started to swarm around him when Merik called his crew to them. Jin was so surprised that there was so many people coming toward him all under the command of this one person. Jin felt a little safe next Merik, hoping that these pirates wouldn't go to attack him with him standing closer to their captain. Jin really didn't want to get hurt.

This didn't sit well with Layla at all. There was something quite off about the woman, that was obvious, since she seemed to make no effort to hide it. She didn't like her captain's ancestor(s). Mostly because her nap was interrupted and she felt threatened. It was a silly defensive response, but that's how it was.
"Yes, please lead the way." Layla urged with a little bit less enthusiasm than what would be expected of someone possibly about to discover the fountain of youth. Really, she sort of felt like going back to sleep once Merik had arrived. He'd be able to take care of things himself, and she was on her break. Ugh.

Rennal scowled at the old hag, his hand still on his sword. He didn't have time for this fountain of youth tomfoolery, he had Jarreth and Father to save. Hopefully on the way there, he'd find them. Or if the old hag didn't know exactly where it was, perhaps he could search for them instead o the fountain. It would serve more useful than searching for a silly age backtracker. So he decided he would go with it, if only to help his people.
How was it that Merik was the more diplomatic one, when this was his land and he should be leading the way? Right. He'd never learned diplomacy, his mother was too restrictive for that. And he had an identity to conceal. But goddesses, not taking action was killing him.
