"You're right, I didn't. And up until this minute you didn't seem to care enough that it'd matter if I had or not." Merik replied as he gazed back up at the bridge as well. The silence grew between the two of them for a few seconds before he spoke again.
"My name's Merik, though there is usually a 'Captain' or any other number of titles that precedes it. And what about you, what shall I call you young spirit?"

The other's assumption is spot on, she didn't think he was picking up on her apathetic nature at all! Ah, well, just goes to show you that for the most part you cannot judge a book by it's cover. Shrugging her shoulders, her hands slowly make their way behind her head and lace together to support her neck as her eyes remain on the bridge above the two of them. A name, it's just a stupid word to identify someone or something as what it is. What does it matter what her name is? She isn't really anything at all, nothing but a damned ghost.
Tapping her foot on the floor, the sounds of her shoes made echoing throughout the field and breaking the silence like a gunshot, she would wait for the sound to disappear before she spoke. "Echo Faust," she said in a very simple manner, her fingers cringing and digging into her hair to help sooth whatever anxiety she felt at that moment when she spoke.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance Echo." the Gerudo said with a polite nod.
The silence seemed to stretch out between them for what could have been seconds or hours...awkward silences were awkward like that after all. After a time the silence was broken by Merik's faint chuckling.
"You know, now that I think about it, I'm fairly certain that you're the only deceased spirit I've ever met...or simply encountered for that matter. Odd how things like that work..."

Echo didn't know how to respond to that, all she could give him was a scoff and a crooked smirk as her eyes shut behind those lids; taking a deep breath, it would appear as if her form faltered, as if it were about to vanish there on the spot. Maintaining a form at the moment must be really hard for her to concentrate on, there must be something eating her up inside.
This Gerudo speaks the truth, even Echo hasn't met another member of the famous living dead. Perhaps all of them these days have found solace, have found peace; perhaps they're all far from this realm of a reality, and maybe they all just happened to move on. Echo, no, she could never move on; she's too caught up in the way she feels, with her thoughts, and her crooked perception of life to ever leave this rock. She's damned here, damned to carry the burdens of a past life she cannot even remember. The weight could be so hard sometimes, and all she wishes to do is just let it all go.
