An eyebrow quirked up at the tactful reply he came up with. Clever little bird changed her train of thought. Her heart began to pitter-patter when it dawned on her as to what his words meant. She was pretty sure before the whole journeying together ordeal started, he didn't break his ribs that often as the Vagrant Prince, so that gave Aya a bit of a confident booster knowing she was a lucky one.
For the most part, she really was joking about his past relationships, and what experience he had. There were some things that were better left unmentioned when engaging in a relationship, and that part was more than true. "I can't say I do," she shrugged, "I mean, you can't have a preference unless you've actually tried, right?"
That didn't come out the way she intended it to.
She raised her hands up and covered her mouth. Her firelight eyes wide open praying to the goddesses that didn't just happen. Unfortunately, the words slipped out of her lips, and now that it was out in the open, she regretted ever mentioning anything. She quickly got up off of Ryst and turned her back to him, and scuttled her little fairy self over to the window.
Her face staring out the window daring now to make another peep if only for the sake of spilling out any other personal information that didn't need to be slipped out thanks to her blunt manner. Her cheeks turned all shades of red from embarrassment. Aya didn't mean to spill the beans but it happened.
Please tell me he didn't hear that clearly, she begged mentally.

Well that had caught him off guard. While Ryst had suspected the truth about Ayameru for a while now, despite her adventuresome nature, he hadn't even thought she would admit it, even in the heat of the moment. And yet there they were merely fooling around, one fully clothed and the other one half nude (though Ryst would be lying if he said he wouldn't rather those roles to be swapped) and the words had just slipped right out of her. And Ryst realized immediately they had not been intended to go beyond thought.
His little fairy companion bashfully dismounted him and ventured off across the room. Guess the shoe was on the other foot. At least she didn't leave the imprint of her knuckles in the wood. His hand still hurt him from that outburst. He sat up, with a bit of effort as his ribs fought against him, and watched her turn her back and walk away. There wasn't any wit in the world that could save him at this point. This called for just the right move, one very specific action to correct.
But what was it?
Words didn't seem like they would be ideal. It would take a hundred words to relay what he was feeling in his head at that retort. Acceptance would be the best bet, but it wasn't the right fit because it made it seem like there was something wrong in the first place. No, there was no word or phrase for his feelings on the matter, but there was one simple action that he could think of that would say everything without a single uttered word. A single action that could speak in thoughts, feelings, emotions and not words.
Ryst got up off the edge of the bed and took a few soft steps toward Ayameru. Gently his arms wrapped around her shoulders and his hands clasped together just above her waist, before his arms drew her in for a hug. He pulled her in close and let himself surround her, to let her know that there was no need to be embarrassed, there was no shame in her words, and that he was there. Not that he accepted it, but that he was there and would be there regardless.
That he loved her.

Don't tell me he heard it... He heard it. Oh my goddess, he heard every word. Let me just crawl in a corner and die now.Aya swore if he said anything to tease her she would show him how sadistic she could truly get. The fire fairy didn't want to hear a peep out of him! All she could think of right now was finding a nice place to hide. Under the bed? Wait, Ryst was on the bed so that didn't work? Under the desk! Yes, yes. Perfect~ The only problem with that though was the sad fact that it wouldn't subside the burning embarrassment that overwhelmed her petite frame. Her whole body felt frozen in a state of stupor that she didn't realize Ryst approaching her. All of her troubled contemplation boiled down to a single thought. What did he think of her admitting that she was still a virgin~ Was it of no surprise? Or did he find her immaturity displeasing? Aya become a stone statue compressed with a wreckage of emotions starting in her heart. Deep down though she was probably scared overall. What did she have to fear? Her childish mindset kept telling her that he would lose interest in her, and leave her alone. There was no possible explanation behind such thoughts, but they were there. However her mental breakdown would soon be banished by a realization of disillusionment. A small gasp escaped her lips as she found strong, but gentle hands wrapped around her shoulders. His hands clasped together at her waist drawing her close in a loving embrace. All she could feel was warmth flooding her senses. Aya sniffled softly. Soon enough soft sobs escaped, but they weren't tears of sorrow - rather tears of joy. Aya couldn't begin to describe the turn around of emotions swaying back and forth like a swing in the park. Her mind was caught in a crimson haze, but she felt the firm but tender arms around her as her hands float above her, resting upon his own. Ayameru adored how he made her feel small, but protected in his arms. She was ecstatic to know that he accepted her just the way she was. The crimson haired maiden enjoyed his company no matter what they were doing; from racing to the finish line, to just running around the room... comforting one another in their moment of angst. She loved it all~ Most importantly, Aya was hopelessly, and irrevocably in love with Ryst.

Ryst held Ayameru close and didn't let go. He was taking care of her just as much as she was taking care of him, he realized. He held her close and surrounded her with him, and saw that it was the right move to make. There were no words he could say, not right away, but he thought about and thought. "I'm sure you'll eventually find your preference," he said, half a tease, half an acceptance. It was a noncommittal reply that said he was sticking with her for the long run and that there was no immediacy to . . . well to do the deed.
He couldn't help but grin again, though. "Well look at the two of us," he said with a breathy laugh. "Think we have all our issues addressed?" he mused playfully before slipping his hands down to her waist. With a quick squeeze he tightened his grip and picked her right up off the ground before closing the few steps between them and the bed. His hands opened and dropped her on the bed with a grin before his hand fell to his ribs.
"Note to self, ribs take a long time to heal," he said, cringing and sitting down on the bed. Then again he'd only bruised them that night. That moment of wincing pain over with, he looked over at her with a pitiful, sad puppy look. "We're going to have to watch out for that one," he said simply. The Vagrant Prince was back, though it was empty, not complete, as if it were only a mask. And yeah, it was a mask. Ryst still felt all that sorrow, and tucked it away behind the face he put up for Ayameru.
For her.
There was no need to drop that sorrow on her anymore. For her he'd be happy. For her he'd be tender. For her he'd be everything she wanted. "Now, where were we before our little spells?" he cooed, moving up the bed to where he had set her down and kissing her. There was no pressure, there never was. This was for her--and he might take a little bit of joy in it, too.

There simply wasn't any balance within their relationship it would seem. The temperamental flame was anything but stables, running wild, and rampants like the emotions that flooded her heart. It felt as if she was being burned alive, but the warmth seeping into her grief was comforting despite how burnt the hinges of the doorway to her soul got. If she lost control, she knew that at least he would be the road she knew so well. Showing her where to go when she needed someone that missing puzzle piece in her life. Aya didn't want him to let her go. Not even in the instant he wrapped his arms around her.
Her crimson orbs for eyes flickered brightly at the teasing remark he made intensifying the blush that was already stained upon her complexion. Oh~ That sly bastard! Though she had to pause for a second to really find the meaning behind those words to really feel the sincerity despite the teasing. She didn't know whether she wanted to turn around, and kiss him or stay in place, and send her elbow straight into his ribcage out of out spite. Although it would seem that neither choices were on Ryst's agenda as she felt his hands wrap around her waist, and lifted her up off of her feet. "Just a second, Ryst!" she protested slightly struggling in his grasp. "Ack!"
She stared at Ryst hard. Look at him, pushing himself, when he should be resting at least to ease the pain down. He wanted to do so much... once again she sensed that isolation floating around him once more. Why couldn't he see that watching him cover up his sorrow like that was killing her inside? Why did he insist on letting himself play the fool by being nothing more than an empty shell of what he used to be? Yes, she loved the man back then, but it wasn't the same. She didn't want just the empty part of him that wanted to please her so, but could she handle all of him, and accept that the Ryst who threw his title away, who swore vengeance for his people, and make the wrongs, right again? Her immature heart needed to grow up faster. Faster! There was no light in his eyes like there was before. She blinked a couple times trying to keep her thoughts straight when he gave her that sad look.
She just couldn't figure him out.
Just as she was about to protest, her lips were sealed up by his kiss, she could swear she felt her heart breaking in two. Yet her body couldn't help but accept the enjoyment, the taste of his lips, addicted to the sweet touch of his passion. Was this one-sided? Aya couldn't tell exactly, and it brought up frustration to no bitter end. Soon enough her arms found themselves locked around his neck, her hands getting tangled yet again within his dark locks. Her tears have dried up, but the traces of their existence still showed upon her eyes.
What distance there had been was long gone whilst Aya lost herself inside of his kiss. She knew that no matter how many bones he broke, and the ever endless amount of healing she could do, it still wouldn't be enough to fill the void that plagued his heart. Their love was nothing more than an infant gathering up on it's feet learning of it's existence within the two of them. Please don't let go, begged the little fairy.

Ryst cracked his eyes open just a little bit to look down at the fairy beneath him. The feeling he felt deep inside, at his very core, it was love. It had to be. Nothing else could burn as brilliantly as that, shining even through the immense sorrow that he bore, shining even through the mask he put up. It passed through him with ease, like a breath of fresh air through an open window. Yes, it had to be love, there was no other word, in either of the languages he spoke, that could describe that feeling exactly, that passionate fluttering feeling that threatened to rip him apart unless he got closer to her.
And closer her did get, if only a little. Leaning over her and locked in the kiss he bent at the elbows to allow some of his own weight to push down on her. Not all of it, nor enough to cause her any trouble--that was the furthest thought from his mind. The weight was closeness, it was their bodies communicating with one another through subtle impulses and shivers, a slow dance created as their bodies touched and swayed in tune with the passion they felt. There was definitely a spark between them, glowing with the intensity of the sun as it broke past all walls Ryst held up.
His eyes closed again and he found himself lost in the kiss as well, his elbows resting against either side of her shoulders, bent ever so slightly, while his hand cupped her cheeks. Her taste flowed along his tongue from the point where their lips touched and he found himself longing for more, though not enough to venture past the boundaries into unspoken territory. He was comfortable with the familiar at this stage, and as he drifted past the black walls of sorrow deeper into his core where the love rested he found the fatigue from the night catching up on him.
And promptly getting pushed aside. From far away he could see the two of them tangled on the bed, his larger frame dwarfing the slender, petite fairy. Despite all the fatigue there was strength in his arms, a drive to prolong this pleasure as if it were the last. Strength held himself up as his lips remained locked with hers and he drew this kiss out, holding her tight to his body. At that moment there was no force in the world that could overcome that subtle energy that fueled him and pushed away the weary ache of the day. That gentle energy that flowed from his very soul and empowered him toward her presence.

This was wrong. So wrong on so many levels it wasn't even funny! Yet she felt completely overwhelmed by his embrace. It was as if any moment now she would burst into flames from the heat that exerted from her softly trembling body. Aya lost her nerves to being so close to him. This warmth was comforting, gentle, and most importantly, loving.
By this point now, she couldn't deny what her heart has been telling her all along, but couldn't really figure it out. This was love. There simply wasn't any other explanation to express the way she felt. So strong yet the slightest touch sent her mind into a whole different world, and Ryst was the only one there with her.
Everything just felt like a blacked out blur, and that the only thing that mattered at the moment was his kiss. It was ridiculous to enjoy kissing this much! Aya never thought in her life that she would find kissing enjoyable. In fact, before she had her kiss stolen away, she convinced herself before that it wouldn't be that big of a deal. That went out the window reeeeaaal fast~ The crimson fairy gasped a little as she felt him lean in closer against her small frame as if they weren't close enough. It felt nice.
Aya contemplated somewhere in the corners of her mind this is where she belongs. It didn't matter who he was, where he was from, or what he did in the past. She had to fight the urge to let a moan escape from her lips, and into his mouth. Her shallow breaths trying to take in the air that was stolen away from her~ The redhead couldn't imagine herself being without him now or even fathom being with another. Ryst was...
All mine, she thought, Every inch, curve, and contour.
Feeling a bit playful, she bit down on his lower lip softly, teasing him a little. Her lithe little hands moving through his scalp in an innocent yet sensual manner. She grew worried that he may hear her heart beating so loud against his chest with him being so close. Yeah, even after all of that time, the soft-hearted little fairy was still nervous about her palpitating heart getting in the way of their intimacy.
